It's so pathetic when you are just dead ****** flat wrong. There are many males in the USMC who are much weaker, smaller and less intimidating than the Williams sisters. Look, I live very close to Ft. Bragg... we have guys coming in almost every week recruiting. Many of these guys are ******* compared to Serena Williams.

And hell... why are you comparing a woman (who would be ENTERING the military) to a man who is ALREADY highly trained? That's completely illogical.

You're making yourself look like a stereotyping ****** graemlin.

I hope that I am not drawing myself into a "taking sides"
issue here with Terpy and Nate...

When you speal of equality as a human being and
equals biologically...you are speaking in two different
worlds.

Compare the "World Records" of Female Athlete's in
Track and Field...To the Male "High School Records"

Plus...they ain't made the same...they have different
parts.

Well, I don't know about Tennis, but Annika Sorentson proved that the best female golfer in the world is only marginal among men. Hell, she didn't even make the cut on the SHORTEST damn course in the PGA ...and about weak males, yes, that's given. There will ALWAYS be weak males........thing is, it's not the norm. Men are generally stronger. Are there very strong women? Yes. But, is it the norm? No. Look at what is normal for the sexes.

My view: One minimum standard that is approved by our military.

If you pass, your in. If not, you're out. Go join the navy.

Look, of course there are biological differences in men and women... there is no denying that. The normal male is much stronger than the normal female, of course.

HOWEVER... if you don't think that there are many women who can pass the military standards... you are simply delusional. There are plenty of women out there who can be of good service to the military.

I don't think that's what anyone is saying Nate. There are exceptions to every rule.

Kev... read that above.

I personally dont feel a female should be in combat. I work with in Law Enforcement, I dispatch officers to calls. There are many times when the zone officer is a female and I send a male as back-up, I know if the male was in that zone I wouldnt think twice he would be on his way to fight crime. There are certain fields well a male should be the primary and I feel this is it. I am very proud of the fact a female can have jobs where at one time it was a "MALE JOB" but reality is we aren't equal and we never will be!!!!

nate jonesacc Wrote:LOL... you still don't understand this. For there to be, let's say 50% of women passing the tests, the standards must be lowered. HOWEVER... if you make it how it should be (same physical test for all), only about 5-10% of women will pass the test. That is still hundreds, even thousands, of women, who can pass the test!
I honestly think it will be much lower than that. They only have to do one pushup to get into the Army and go straight from reception to their Basic Training unit. I had to do 12.

Nate as always, you are simply pulling things out of your ****** with no knowledge or experience to back it up. I have no knowledge on this either, but at least I admitted it. You have no evidence whatsoever that "many women" would pass the same test the men have to pass to get into the military. Your argument is not any more valid than mine is. And until you show me any actual proof I will no longer respond to you on this thread.
