The BCS is the biggest joke in NCAA history.

There is only ONE way to crown a national champion:

<span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'><span style='color:red'>PLAYOFFS!!!</span></span>

Yeah, y'all have a championship game.... BUT YOU'RE STILL PICKING YOUR CHAMPION!

That is never gonna change until you take the human equation out of the process. How? Do what every every other sport and all other divisions of football in the NCAA does. Playoffs.

You say it'll never happen because of big money sponsers. It will if the fans of the game BI-CH LOUD ENOUGH!

You don't think big money sponser will flock to a 16 team playoff system? PLEASE!

You BCS lovers keep thinking that, in the end, the BCS will prove you right and work. Yet the system keeps on screwing you. When are you gonna learn? :rolltide:

I wouldn't mind, but with our crap Strength of Schedule in the MAC, we are trying to shift away from 1-AA games. This year we played 3 bcs bowl teams and beat one, and our SOS was still in the 80's I think. Next year we play at ohio state and at UGA. How much talk has there been of yall movin up? I'd love to see you join CUSA in a few years.

Yeah, well good luck trying to find it in the new CUSA. Those games against SMU and ECU ought to shoot you up to the top.

BTW, is it Hofstra or Troy St that was the 3rd BCS team that Marshall played?

Maybe Marshall isn't trying as hard as they say.

lol, I was counting tennesse, but seems they slipped to the peach bowl. My apologies.
Also, I'm not sure about the cusa format, but ECU is usually a good team. SMU had a winning record this year I think. As for troy state, they gave us a 2-1 so we took it. Hofstra, well, you got me there. As I said, we're trying to move from a softer schedule.

I counted Tenn also. But that leaves Kansas St and Tenn as BCS opponents. Hofstra and Troy St were Marshall's other OOC opponents.

And, I meant this SMU:

Southern Methodist 0-8 0-12

What they should do is this...

First off...I don't want to sound like a Deep Blue or anything like it 03-wink

On the day of the conference championships(SEC, Big12, and soon ACC), they should have the other 3 big conferences(Pac10, Big10, Big East) champions play the smaller 3 conferences(MAC, WAC, CUSA, MWC) champions with the MWC and WAC champions playing the week before.

Example:

ACC: FSU vs. Miami
Big12: OU vs. KSU
SEC: UF vs. LSU
Big East vs. MAC: Pitt vs. Toledo
Pac10 vs. WAC or MWC: USC vs. Boise St. or BYU
Big10 vs. CUSA: Mich. vs. Louisville

Game1-ACC vs. BigEast vs. MAC
Game2-SEC vs. Big10 vs. CUSA
Game3-Big12 vs. Pac10 vs. WAC or MW

This is where polls can come into play, or have a round-robin.

With polls:

Seed winners 1-3 based on AP or Coaches Poll and have the #1 team get a bye to championship

Round-robin:

Game1 winner vs. Game2 winner
Game1 winner vs. Game3 winner
Game2 winner vs. Game3 winner

Top2 - Championship

If they all split 1-1, then margin of victory is used to determine the 2 teams to go to the Championship.

Total of 17 games(round-robin)*, 14(BYE team) or 15 (polls)*

*- based on 12 game schedule(could be cut down to 11 to lower amount of games)

Why does nearly everbody in the SoCon HATE Furman? lol

It's a nice scenic and very well designed campus -- stayed there a few times myself.

Even met Keith Brooking there during Falcons training camp.

The easiest solution, IMHO is:

16 team playoff.
Take the current BCS bowls... add one more.
The semi-finals are BCS bowls... the championship being a rotated BCS bowl.

Everybody else above .500: the rest of the bowls.

Been to Fumun myself....

Great campus. S--tload of "better-than-you" fans and students. Would I go back???? HELL YEAH, love watching the "winesippers" choke on $20 cheese when the Eagles break free up the middle for 50 yard gainers.

Tip for the Fumun faithful:

1) Stay on the horse

2) DON'T GO FOR TWO!

back way back, my parents told me once a furman player jumped our old fairfield wall and went in their section to fight one of our fans. I was raised to hate furman. I remember the one time we ran up the score on purpose was against them, and the crowd cheered. As for the campus, nice golf course.

I'll tell you something: this is one SECer who wouldn't hesitate to go Furman-ward. The college choice of one of the most prized POAs I've ever had the privilege of breathing the same air as. I know that's not the most respectful way to put it but . . . damn *bites his fist* Sweet Christ!

1) Would love to see a Playoff system implemented.

2) Furman sucks.

Not necessarily in that order.
