Brian Butch will taking his official visit to Chapel Hill this weekend.

Butch, is a top 10 prospect in the 2003 class, and maybe the best center prospect who will play college ball. Like David Padgett, Butch is still considering 3 others schools and hasn't declared a leader.

Let's all hope Butch has a great visit. I am sure he will be at the UNC/Texas game, so if you see him (tall, white, blond haired) say hello and tell him that we'd love to have him be a Tar Heel!

I have faith in Doherty and let's hope Butch will too. Come on down Brian Butch; you can be the final puzzle piece that we need for future success of UNC hoops!

It is Saturday and it is pouring rain here in Chapel Hill, just like it was for Padgett's visit. Chapel Hill is always so much more beautiful with sunshine.

Yeah, that's all we needed, a tropical storm with frogstrangling rain. Rats!

I'm hoping for anything that can slow down Texas' offense. The rain might not be as bad as we think....

HOLY LORD!

It's about 1:30 and the rain is really coming down out there. Let's all pray that it slacks up before 8PM. But maybe this is good because I hear the Texans have trouble keeping their hands on something that their supposed to be able to get. (ie. football or presidential election) Let's go Tar Heels!

Yeah. Maybe the rain will work to our advantage. I wouldn't be surprised if it stops by kickoff though. It is already starting to slow down a bit.

Hey everybody,

Just got back from Franklin street and it was hoppin even though we lost. The game was awesome cause we were close until the fourth quater. I saw Butch and the ENTIRE basketball team walk right past my seat and I got the "We want Butch" cheer started. He looked kinda embarresed but I hope it impressed him that we care so much about our atheletics. Good loss today it was definately a fun experience. GO HEELS!!!

I was at Tar Heel town before the game just chillin'. I was watching Woody and Steven Gates do their radio show live when I turned around and saw Butch! I almost dropped my plate of ribs!

Butch was with Will Johnson, Melvin Scott, and Jon Holmes. Will did a short interview with Woody and everybody cheered when he was introduced. Most people didn't even seem to notice that a 7-foot recruit was in their prescence! Butch seemed a little bit shy, but a few guys in the crowd went up to him and shook his hand and said hello, and so I went over and gave him a pat on the back and told him to "Come on down." Butch smiled and sort of laughed.

Then they proceeded towards the stadium and I kinda followed them. A few people greeted the guys and wished them good luck. Anyways, I had to enter Gate 1 and they kept walking, and I didn't see them again during the game.

Anyone hear any official news on how things went with the visit yet? Just curious... I hope Doherty showed him a good time!
