Give credit to dook -- they did what they needed to do to get the win. They had a little bit more in the tank than us there at the end.

I've never hated on Duhon, and never understood why people felt the need to prove he's a terrible player. I know Dickie V has harped on him a bit too much, but the guy has never been a bad player. He had a good freshman year, regressed a bit his sophomore year, struggled a lot last year (mainly because he kept trying to heave up JJ Redick-length shots) -- but he's really shined this year. He's playing like the senior that he is, and doing all the things that make dook as good as they are. He drives to the basket better than any PG not named Felton, dishes the ball well, and in general doesn't turn the ball over too much or do anything that hurts his team. If he keeps playing this way, he should make at least second team All-ACC.

Anyway, I'm disappointed about the loss, especially because it was a critical game for the psyche of this Tar Heel team. They needed a confidence boost going into the second half of the ACC season, and I really thought a win against dook would do that. As it is, they have approximately 36 hours from the end of the dook game to rest up and prepare for another tough game in Winston-Salem. Now, the entire season may be hanging in the balance of that game....

Wow, the mystery deepens!

You attend Clemson but pull for the Tarholes. You are a fan of a rival/confernce school of the school you attend.

Mongrel, is this another one of your aliases?

Everybody likes the "baby" blue Tarholes. That is why every thug across the country has at least 3 UNC-Chapel Hill Jerseys! Let's jump on the bandwagon! 03-puke

My last comments were just an open ended rant against Chapel Hell, not Marshallwins in particular. I probably shouldn't have quoted him in my response.

However, when in the Chapel Hell area, make sure you stop by the Aurora on Hwy 54! Mmmm, Mmmm, Good!

I've only been to chapel hill once, for a football game. One day soon, maybe for grad school if i'm lucky. By then ole roy will have players who actually buy into his system and haven't been brainwashed into an all offense mentality.

Even this team looked determined to play some defense last night. It was refreshing, despite the loss.

But against a good team, you can't play defense for 5 minutes and then quit for 5 minutes. I have faith, but as someone said, they are a ways off before they can be the dominant team of unc's past.

Its been almost 17 hours since the game ended, and I have had some time to think about the game and all. I was devastated last night to say the least, and I am still pretty downtrodden. Let me start by saying that the atmoshphere at the Smith Center was incredible. Being part of a deafening sea of baby blue, looking out there to see talent like Raymond Felton and a coach like Roy was an amazing feeling. Our fans came to cheer and our guys came to compete. McCants is flat out unstoppable whether people want to admit it or not. Manual's defense is nasty good, and May is back. The guys played well enough to win the game. However, as Roy said earlier this season, our guys still don't know how to win. Up by 7 with under 5 minutes to play and Duhon with 4 fouls, we should have had that game in the bag. Yet, a slew of turnovers and defensive breakdowns gave Duke the game. The referees weren't helpful at all either. There was a stretch of 10 minutes in the game that extended from late in regulation to overtime where Duke was not called for a foul. It was one thing to lose to Duke, but losing when we had the game in our grasps makes it a whole lot worse. And this is just one game. Through one go round in ACC we are 3-5. This game was so devastating because I think it is going to hurt out guys' confidence when they need it the most. From here we have no choice but to win games or else. I am behind my Tar Heels all the way. I have confidence that we are one of the best teams in the country, and when we start making the little plays we will win big games. Whether that comes tomorrow vs. Wake, in March, or next year, it is going to happen. Go Heels!
