With the departure of Mike Dunleavy from dook, im sure that the opinions of the ACC standings in next year's basketball season have changed for some people, so I am asking everyone to post their predictions. You can post a 1-9 list or just say what you want. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

Of Course Im biased but here goes nothing...

1. Maryland - After losing 4 starters from last years National Championship team we still are probably the most experienced team in the ACC. It looks like 4 seniors and one JC transfer Junior will be starting for the Terps. We wont be as good as last year but anyone who expects us to rollover are in for a rude awakening.
2. NC State - Even though they lose their senior backcourt they return a lot of players who were big contributors on last years team, I expect Hodge to be in the running for ACC POY next season he is going to be really good, unfortunatley he wont stick around much if any after next season.
3. Duke - Dunleavy was the only proven scoring threat set to return to this team without him IMHO opinion things dont look good for the dukies, I dont think you want to have to rely on Ewing and Duhon to do all of the scoring for you, unless one of the incoming freshmen really come up big third maybe going easy on these guys.
4. Virginia - Even without Mason they have the talent to finish in the top half of the ACC its just a question of whether or not Pete Gillen can take advantage of the talent, something he failed to do last year.
5. North Carolina - If Felton is as good as advertised they may be good enough to make the tourney after last years nightmare season.
6. GT - They lose Akins but thats about all they lose from a team that finished strong after a slow start last year. Jarret Jack is the next in line of all the great GT point guards. Jack, along with Chris Bosh and Ed Nelson will help Paul Hewitt lead this team back to the tourney.
7. Wake Forest - These guys lost nearly everyone from last years team, if they want to make the tourney Josh Howard is going to have to play like a NPOY candidate and Vytas Danelius is going to have to become Darius Songalia II. Eric Williams may end up being the next Lonny Baxter but its not going to happen next season.
8. Clemson - With Stockman transfering Clemson will once again battle FSU for last in the ACC.
9. FSU - New coach, same old noles will fight Clemson for last place in the ACC. Losing point guard Delvon Arrington and [very] big man Nigel Dixon doesnt help much.

You wouldn't have complained last season since that would have been Duke.

Are you intentionally leaving Wake out of your prediction?

1. Maryland-Blake, a true leader is back...something no other team has
2. Tech-continues to get better, Bosh helps with inside, Jack with outside
3. NCSU-young, but talented
4. Duke-lost talent, relying on recruits
5. Wake-can they rebound after losing Songalia(sp?)?
6. UVA-lost key players
7. UNC-No Capel, no title
8. FSU-brought in some recruits
9. Clemson-still suffering

A case can definitely be made for Maryland ahead of Duke, and perhaps, maybe NCSU, but TECH? You have to be kidding me.

1) Duke/MD tie
3) NCSU
4) Tech
5) UVA
6) UNC
7) Wake
8) FSU
9) Clemson

Here's a question to go along with this year... what upsets will take place within the ACC? Here are a couple I could see happening...

NCSU over Duke
UVA over UMD
Clemson over ANYONE 03-wink
