I usually like Tom Dienhart from TSN, b/c he'll reference the MAC occasionally. But check out this little bit of tongue-twisting:

this week (after UNC beat ASU):
4. What's the best remaining game in the ACC?

A. Florida State at North Carolina State, Nov. 23
B. NC State at Clemson, Oct. 26
C. NC State at Maryland, Nov. 9

Answer: A. Think before firing off e-mails and face this fact: This league just ain't that good this year. Yes, there are some nice puppy dog teams like Wake, Virginia and North Carolina. But Maryland and Georgia Tech have disappointed.

Now go to last week
3. Which league has been the most underrated so far?

A. ACC
B. Big East
C. Mountain West
D. Conference USA
E. MAC

Answer: A. The ACC was ranked 5th by TSN entering this year, but the league has performed better.
----------------------------------------------

What changed? Maybe this email to Mr. Dienhart from yours truly...

"3. Which league has been the most underrated so far?

Nah, the ACC has lost 2x to the MAC and every week proves that Syracuse isn't all that."

Otherwise speculative order of importance:
Miami at Marshall
BG vs Toledo
CMU vs WMU (rivalry game).

BTW, I wasn't flaming the ACC in this post. I was just pointing out Dienhart's ambiguity. My letter was that no conference has been over- or underrated this season.

There are 6 BCS Leagues!

In games against each other...It would seem that
their records should reflect how they are positioned. They do not!

ACC 8-3
Big 10 7-5
PAC 10 8-8
Big 12 9-9
SEC 5-8
Big East 5-9

The MAC has always been a stubborn foe.

Toledo crushing Penn State and Purdue two years
ago. Marshall has had some success in bowls.
UCF, while in a down year has some big wins under
its belt. Beating Alabama at the Tide's homecoming game.

In the mid-70's...In three straight Tangerine Bowls...Miami of Ohio beat Georgia, Florida and
South Carolina.

Chuck Ealey and the Toledo Rockets reeled off 33
straight wins...Ohio university a few years before
that had a similar run.

'Nuff said for the MAC...

But the ACC has bested the other leagues in head
to head competition, more times than has happened
to them.

The adage is..."Decide it on the field!"

The problem is..."Everybody outside the ACC, doesn't like the outcome of the games!"

The ACC is better

Tony Hollings was the best guy in the nation...heck he still is in the top 10 in rushing yards, and touchdowns...

and he's been out for 2 games, and a bye week

why do you all of the sudden think that the Mac is the best? HA! Marshall is all they've got, and they wouldn't make it in the ACC, SEC, Big10, Big12, BigEast, or the pac10

quit crying and go back,
to the Mac,
to talk smack

Second, every team has injuries, so UMd and Ga Tech have disappointed, even though it's because of serious losses. Strike two.

Thrid, BG is dominating right now, Miami has beaten UNC 2x in recent years (including this year) and NIU beat WF. Strike three. You are officially an imbecile. Thanks for playing. <img border="0" alt="[Wavy Guy]" title="" src="graemlins/wave.gif" />

I can't believe ANYONE could think the Mac is better than the ACC

So Wake and UNC had bad games...but you CANT not consider those upsets...

put Bowling Green in the ACC, and they would win, maybe 2 games...

DONT EVEN SAY THEY WULD BEAT MARYLAND, BECAUSE WHAT BIG GAMES HAS BG FACED, OR WON? STRIKE 1

Have they even played ANYONE in the top 25, or will they even this year? The answer is NO, STRIKE 2

Get a life, STRIKE 3

This sounds a lot like an earlier post and thread.

Bowling Green is overrated. They're ranked ahead of Florida. Who in their right mind would even consider BG having a better team than Florida? If you do Dr. Torch, you're the imbecile.

Who have they beat anyway, a bunch of BAD mid-major teams and two BCS teams. Those two teams would be Kansas and Missouri. The only wins these two teams have are against Mid-Major teams. Big Whoop.

Funny how the list of MAC over ACC teams just keeps growing.

How do all of you keep missing the point? techdude4 is a f'n idiot for not reading the original author, and a bigger cry-baby. Why can't he just admit it and shut the hell up?

Ok, so we know that UMd is tough. Let's see, what ACC teams are worse than Maryland?

Help me out here techfan4, what ACC team would lose to Maryland so that BG might have a prayer of beating them?

Such a team would probably have to lose by at least 23 pts, for BG to have a chance of beating a mighty ACC team.

Is there any team in the ACC that Maryland would just pound? A team like that BG might be able to beat. Wouldn't you agree techfan4?
