First a bit about the methodology. I pared down all the classical rock songs to a list of 575. So 'Boris the Spider' didn't even make the first cut. It also gave me some margin and some selection, and helped to prevent me from overlooking a worthy tune.

So who won't you find on the list?

Elton John, Bruce Hornsby, Huey Lewis... to name a few. Partly because they aren't Rock artists, but mostly because they SUCK.

So, the list will be interesting. Probably a few surprised, even in the top 20. Even in the top 10. For one thing there are no 7 minute ballads in the top 10 (yeah I'm talking to you Lynard Skynard fans).

So with no further ado

480 Take Me to the River - Talking Heads <- Somehow these guys are Classical rock. Not a problem. Enjoy the diversity.
479 I'm Your Captain - Grand Funk Railroad<- The most paranoid song on the list. This is a weird tune.
478 Space Oddity - David Bowie
477 I'm Just a Singer - Moody Blues
476 Us and Them - Pink Floyd <- When you get past 20 years old, you can understand why Sid Vicious wore a shirt that said "I hate Pink Floyd". Still they put out a few respectable tunes, and here's their debut.
475 Under a Raging Moon - Roger Daltrey <- A forgotten tribute to the legendary Keith Moon
474 I'll Follow the Sun - Beatles
473 Suzie Q - CCR
472 Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton
471 Spirits in the Material World - Police
470 I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty
469 Heaven's on Fire - Kiss
468 Can't Buy Me Love - Beatles
467 She's Always a Woman - Billy Joel
466 Not to Touch the Earth - The Doors
465 The Secrets that you Keep - The Romantics
464 Eye in the Sky - Alan Parsons Project
463 Babe I'm Gonna Leave - Led Zeppelin
462 Good Times Roll - The Cars
461 Shock the Monkey - Peter Gabriel

You put KISS ahead of Eric Clapton, The Police, Tom Petty & CCR? As if wanting to exclude Journey from your list entirely wasn't bad enough. You are now using your remaining credibility as a clay pigeon. "Pull!" <shot fired> The clay pigeon (your credibility) shatters into a million pieces. 05-nono

Dude, be patient. Do you really think that Clapton, the Police, etc only have 1 entry?
