Which has been battered lately.

Obviously not everyone is expecting to be a dot.com millionaire these days...but this sort of fall off is going to make alot of folks angry pretty soon.

I realize oil prices are having a big effect, and both parties are to blame for this. BUT, how come no one is talking about it?

That's a tough one, Torch. The market has been careening sideways (now spiraling downward) and everytime you think you've pegged the trend, it reverses itself right back to the starting point.

Oil prices, Iraq and the elections are big factors in the sluggishness. The good news is you can make money while the market falls if you know how to work the system.
