SALT LAKE CITY - The husband of a missing pregnant woman told a "reliable citizen witness" in the psychiatric ward that he killed his wife as she slept before throwing her body in a trash bin, according to a court filing.

The statement, released Tuesday by the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Department, also says investigators found human blood on a knife in the bedroom of Mark Hacking's apartment and on their bed's headboard and a bedrail.

Blood found in the bedroom matched traces of blood found in Lori Hacking's car, according to the statement.

Mark Hacking was arrested Monday on a charge of aggravated murder, two weeks after he said his wife failed to return from a morning jog. He has not been formally charged and is being held without bail.

Somehow I'm thinking this guy is smarter than we give him credit for and has strategically laid a "not guilty by reason of insanity" defense and will avoid the death penalty as a result.

I would rather see him sit 30 years in jail and then fry him. But thats just me :D

That is really sad, and you start to see more and more people going to that plea. They can't do away with it though, but I think they should do numerous IQ tests, etc.

I've always thought the same thing. Who in their right mindset would kill someone? You have to be crazy to kill another person.

let's see, should i listen to former NFL QB sean salisbury and NFL expert Pat Kirwan, or the wise terpy? Oooh, what a tough choice.

But you did do a good job of making me laugh. i guess that counts for something. :roflol:
