I think two teams that will be really interesting to watch this year are the Mavs and the Knicks. I really like what both of these teams did in the off-season, now we can see if they mesh it all together. If so, they could be the best two teams in the league.

Um, Denver at #2? I doubt that.

When this team gels, which will probably be about a month into the season, watch out. They could definitely be the second best team in the west.

Are you insane???
Voshawn Leonard is the Nuggs starting SG!!!
Melo will be whining two weeks into the season.
Everyone expects this team to do something this year, which is exactly why they won't.
7th or 8th spot in the West.

Voshon Lenard averaged 17 ppg two years ago, and he is the last option in the offense.
Melo and K-Mart may be the best forward combo in basketball.
The Nuggets can play.

I'd put them behind San Antonio, Minnesota, Dallas and the Lakers in the West. I might even put Houston ahead of them although I think Houston is in trouble without a point guard. My guess is that Denver will finish around 5th or 6th in the West.

I don't think so. There are at least three teams in the West that are better.

Supposedly there were 5 or 6 teams in the West better than the Pistons last year so I would think if there are only two or three this year the Pistons chances are much more better this time around to win it all.
Pistons vs Minnesota Timberwolves Finals and I'll take Detroit in 6 games.

The Pistons caught the Lakers at the right time last year and took advantage. I love the Pistons, but I think that the Spurs and Wolves are well ahead of them, as well as the Mavs and Nuggets.
The Spurs are ready to take off this year, Manu will be an all-star, Tony Parker will establish himself as a top point guard, Duncan will be Duncan, and Brent Barry will make a run at the Sixth Man award. Add that to Bowen's D and I think for the first time in a while there is a clear favorite in the NBA.
