The fact that I value all human life equally does not make me a Christian. It is the reverse. The fact that I am a Christian is why I feel that I must value all human life equally.

Unfortunately, too many people in this country mold their own beliefs to the Bible, instead of vice versa. Not many people in this country can accept Christ's radical message, including myself.
when you calm down, perhaps you can translate this into a coherent philosophy, moral or otherwise.

there's damn few christians in the countries you identify, yet you claim there is an agenda to kill the christians where they are few.

and you avoid the issue of what this country, consisting of christians, jews, muslims, buddhists, bahai's, hindus, atheists, etc., should do in response to mass murder perpetrated on all of its citizens, and ongoing threats to increase the carnage.

nevermind. go back to focusing on the outrage of rebelkev telling you to kiss his, or someone's, ***.
When I calm down? I don't see any evidence that I was riled up. Frustrated about RebelKev's double standards? Of course. But I wasn't ever out of control. To my recollection, I told no one to kiss my monkey ***.

I'm sorry that your reading comprehension level seems to be on par with a 5th grader. Was the word "radical" too advanced for you? I see nothing complicated about what I said, but I will boil it down for you. Christ came and said "Follow me." He also made it very clear that the Old Covenant of wrath toward enemies was fulfilled through his gospel of peace and forgiveness. Most Christians in the country do not follow this philosophy. This presents a logical contradiction within the understanding of Christ's message in America and the truth of the gospel.

God's most precious gift to humanity was life. Without a doubt, life is the most important gift that we, as Christians, ought to protect. For the most part, people in America want to save the most lives as possible. However, people become spiteful at say, Arafat, Saddam, the French, and become incredibly reckless in the way they approach live taking. It is my belief that in order for Christians to be a people of peace that we must both ensure life for the unborn and also, be more ready to die than to kill. If Christians were more ready to die, we would not need to kill. The problem? Christians don't want to die and be with God. On the whole, Christians would rather live in a false sense of security within the borders of their country than to be at rest with God.

There is, without a doubt, an American agenda to kill Christians. However, I wouldn't say American strategy is to target Christians. The agenda is to kill the bad guys, regardless of how many Christians, babies, women and elderly people die in the process.

I don't have a foreign policy. Why? Because I have a church of people who are more ready to die than to kill. That is how Christians must live. Do you think Christ was ready to kill his oppressors, or do you think he was ready to die for the sake of humanity? Accordingly, we ought to be ready to die at any moment for the sake of living a Christly life.

This is a bad thing? It's my belief that this is how it's supposed to be done.

If I start molding the Bible to fit my preconceptions, then what good is it? Why do I need such a book?
I apologize. I worded this incorrectly. My intent was to say that too many people mold the scripture to fit their own agenda.

My point is to say that not enough people mold their lives to the Bible. Do we agree?

I also find it humorous that for many years immediately following Christ's death, many of the early Christians would not even let soldiers into their churches. Of course that is a bit extreme, but where have we gone since then?

If any of you want to talk about conviction, look no further than here.

"Maximilian, as it is related in the Acts of Ruinart, was brought before the tribunal to be enrolled as a soldier. On the proconsul's asking his name, Maximilian replied: "I am a Christian, and cannot fight." It was, however, ordered that he should be enrolled, but he refused to serve, still alleging that he was a Christian. He was immediately told that there was no alternative between bearing arms and being put to death. But his fidelity was not to be shaken: "I cannot fight," said he, "if I die." He continued steadfast to his principles, and was consigned to the executioner."

i know it's an exercise in futility when someone like you tells someone like me that my outside range is a 5th grade reading level.

someday, maybe, hopefully, perhaps, with the grace of gods both christian and non-christian, i can compete with you on the intellectual level which you believe you occupy. in the meantime, i'll just compete with you on the level at which you typically perform.

which is to say, 5th grade is more than sufficient.

("Kooky" was perhaps a bit mean spirited. Sorry. But I know you've seen the vitrol routinely aimed at me).
Some on the right have taken an extreme position on stem cell research. However dont get too high and mighty.

Some of the same people who are pushing for stem cell research are the same ones, who using only scientific research that supports their views are trying to gin up public hystria over global warming, what I believe to be: Extreme and left wing. :D

Kooky is a good word as long as your willing to apply it to extremists on both sides of the political spectrum.

In the past election you could have voted for Kerry who has an extremist view on global warming or Bush who has an extremist view on stem cells.

This may say something right here.

And, it's hard to read your eloquent prose when you don't ever use capital letters.

it may. it may not. at the 5th grade level, you never know for sure.

so call me an anti-capitalist. i do that to confuse the easily confused.

i can't describe the thrill of having gone, within 2 of your posts, from 5th grade reading semi-illiterate to the progenitor of eloquent prose.

By the way, did you just respond to my petty insult with the very same petty insult? Were you never in 3rd grade?

Come on, don't sink down to my level.

Also, intending to confuse people is the easiest way to prove you know little about what you are talking about. Keep up the good work!

i'm thinking of one of my favorite old sayings: "you're lower than whale sheit, and that's at the bottom of the ocean." that came to my mind when i evaluated sinking to your level. and concluded it was impossible.

no. intending to confuse is just proof of the fact that the person is perceived to be easily confused. the person in question has to work hard to create that perception. congratulations. you did it. again. and again. and.....
