Have you noticed that most every major city is in the hole big time? In Buffalo city worker are having to bring their own soap and toilet paper to work. In Memphis they have canceled all softball rec leagues because the city ball parks are closing (after the mayor hands out 25-30% raises to his staff mind you). These are just a few miniscule things. The deficits are in the millions and billions everywhere. On top of that the trade deficit and national debt. Then we have illegal immigrants getting free health care while us Americans pay out the wazoo for health care. When is this going to start getting better?

We can not be taxed more. We pay 50-60% of everything we earn right now in taxes.

I think the simple answer is better fiscal responsibility - but I know deep in my heart that won't happen due to politicians now being the 'elite' (most of them corrupt) class of America. They aren't going to stop spending and patting each others and their contributors backs.

Am I freaked out about nothing here, or are we on the short rope to big-big trouble?

Ever notice that those cities in trouble are controlled by Democrats? Yes, there IS something that can be done......stop thinking of "me". ....but it ain't gonna happen, hence why suburbs are growing in light speed.

For every city that is struggling to pay the bills, there are cities like the one I work in and the one I live in that are absolutely, positively rolling in the dough because of sound fiscal and growth policies.

I was actually talking about cities. States are much too dynamic and they tend to shift back and forth more often.
