Frostburg: $2.19/gallon...do they think us college students are made of money or something?
do you need a car in college?
I'm a commuter, so yes...some college students need cars. I refuse to pay an extra $8,000 to live on campus, eat crappy food, have an ******* of a roommate, all the while being 15 minutes from my childhood home.

Those who live on campus...I doubt they need a car as much. Some schools won't allow freshmen to have cars, but my college does.
I live on campus but I still need a car. I am student teaching and my school is 15 miles away. Those of us who are elementary education majors need cars on campus even if we live on campus. Which is no fun.

Gas was 2.23/gallon today...I knew I should've gotten gas yesterday when it was $2.19/gallon :bang: :bang:

They keep on saying that we are going to have rates that are comparable to Europe. Here's the big difference, much of Europe's population is compacted and connected by an extensive rail network. Cars are truly a luxury and aren't needed. Outside of maybe 3-5 cities in the US, a car is a necessity to get to work, to go to the store, ect. since most of us live in the suburban sprawl of cities developed around the superhighway. To make matters worse some states, like California, are seeking to start charging people for their car usage by the mile.

Here's the stinky linky:
