A good lefty surprise has been reliever John Foster for the Braves. He's had 9 scoreless appearances and a WHIP of just 0.67 so far in 6 innings. This guy was no where near the ML radar in March and even into early April.

Horam's ERA is misleading. He gave up four runs today that were directly caused by the sun in San Diego. Marcus Giles and LaRoche each lost a ball in the sun. How much lower would it be if not for that?

as soon as i posted that, i said to myself, "i'm sure gdawgs will downplay ramirez's poor pitching." can't you just admit that he hasn't been very good this season? i guess you can't.

Well, outside of 2 starts (yesterday and a couple weeks ago at NYM), he's been pretty decent, especially for a 5th starter.

There's no point in arguing with you about this. I gave you a very fair reason for his ERA, but you're just going to write it off and call me a homer. I've watched Horam pitch every game this year. You just look at stats.

BTW, his ERA was 3.68 before yesterday. Keep telling me he's been pitching poorly.

yesterday counts, stuff happens, and you have to deal with it. you said the giants have a poor rotation, but do you have any idea how many times our fielding has screwed out pitchers? but i never complain. **** happens, but it all counts.

Horam is pitching very well and is going to have a great season. That's all I will say.

This one is all on Horacio. He was atrocious, and if he's not careful, he's going to pitch himself straight to the bullpen when Thomson comes back.
Get 'im outta there!
