How good will Duke be?

Aight folks, hoops season is here again, and I want to know what you all think about the damn Dookies. I think they are going to be pretty decent; their talent isn't too bad and they have some coaches over there. I think this team may be one of the deepest in the country. They are 2 deep at every spot. But they are young, and I think they lack on-court leadership.

I think these teams are capable of beating Dook AT LEAST ONCE this year:

UCLA
UNC
MD
UVA
Wake
NCState

I predict Dook to have 5+ losses on the season.

Your thoughts?

3-4 losses regular season

1 OOC (UCLA?)
MD
UVA
a fluke

NCSU, Wake and UNC have a very small chance of beating us, especially UNC.

I am not so sure about that Nate.
HEY NATE. I am VERY sorry I edited your post. I meant to hit the quote button. My apologies. :bang:

Don't underestimate NC State, they're a tough team, Julius Hodge is going to will that team to victory, just like Troy bell does.

Not really, but they're the third game, and when you rely on freshmen early, it can spell a loss.

I think there are a lot of teams in the league with a big man or two that will be able to match or defeat Duke's young frontcourt on some nights.

GT: Bosh
UNC: May
Wake: E. Williams
MD: Holden & Randle
NCSU: Powell, Melvin, Collins???
UVA: Watson
FSU: Richardson
Clemson: Hobbs

Um, I'd take a split with Shav, Shelden, Nick, Casey and Thompson with any of those.

A split? 03-confused

Are you saying you predict Duke will win atleast one game against each?

No, that our big men will split (as in play even) with any of those you mentioned.

And when it comes down to Shav, Shelden, Casey, Nick and Thompson vs. May...

Coach K will only play 2 of the players at a time. Most often it will be Shelden Williams and Shav-licks-coach k's-lou Randolph.

Sean May and Jawad Williams will be our frontcourt.

Most likely it will be May vs. SWilliams, JWilliams vs. Shav.

I know May is as good/or better a player than Shelden and Shav. Duke will probably have the edge with Shav over Jawad because Shav is a proven post player. But remember: Jawad was one of the best freshmen in the league last year. :)

3 things

1) Jawad in the post is flat out hilarious. I saw him try to post up DONALD LITTLE and get thrown, and the other time he missed badly. He is a joke inside.

2) Please explain how Sean May is better than Shelden.

3) We have 5 players to rotate in and out. You'll wear out the fatass and end up having to play Damion "joke" Grant, who will get abused.

You're fooling yourself if you think your big "men" (or man) will outplay anyone in the conference except FSU and Clemson.

As far as front court goes...

Duke has the depth

Maryland has the experience

Georgia Tech has some talent

NC State is a mystery

Wake is not up to speed

FSU should play football

Virginia has Watson

Clemson needs to keep trying

UNC has Fat Albert, oops, I mean Sean May

UNC has beaten an extremely weak PSU team and struggled with a mediocre Rutgers team, both at home!

I would be ashamed right now.
