Durant's Status
Will UNC QB play this Saturday?
By THD Staff

The only compelling reason to watch the Carolina-Duke football game this Saturday is to see whether or not Darian Durant will play.

The junior QB, who has sat out since the Virginia game with a broken thumb in his throwing hand, may do just that, according to John Bunting.

"He has a great desire to help this football team in this game," Bunting said in his weekly press conference.

Word is that Durant has looked accurate and strong in his throwing at practice.

It's possible that Bunting is throwing up a smoke screen to cause the Duke defensive staff to prepare for Durant as well as C.J. Stephens. There's little doubt that Carolina is a better offensive team with Durant.

And if he does play -- and Carolina wins -- he'll become somewhat of a legend in Chape Hill.

Either way, it will be interesting to watch.
