All of you are the Oracle of the ACC, so tell me, is this kid going to an ACC school?

Chris Leak has 178 career TD's. Leak is still playing for 13-0 defending state champion Independence High School (N.C.).

If so it could be very interesting watching Leak vs B. Mauk (committed to WF; 175+ TD's, national record in yds)

This kid is not going to an ACC school. His brother started off at Wake, but that wasn't big-time enough for his dad... so he transferred to Tennessee. Coincidentally, now his brother is riding the pine there.

Still, his dad seems to be confident that Chris will be the man at a big-time school. In their eyes, ACC <> "big time."

(By the way, Indy is my high school alma mater.)

I don't know. I heard that Florida State now leads for Chris. I guess that works well for them since they are running kind of low on quarterbacks these days. Tennessee, who was his former leader, has stopped recruiting him.

Whoops, I forgot I had heard that FSU is in the running now with QB's dropping like flies down there. But they'll be in the Atlantic League soon anyway, so I still say he won't be in the ACC. 03-wink

By the way, I hadn't heard anything definitive on Tennessee's not recruiting him anymore. I heard that rumor -- and then I saw a quote by Fulmer that he was still their number one target.

Since it will be a few years before all you guys abandon us for the Atlantic League, he would have to play at least a year or two in the soon-to-be non-existent ACC. I'm actually looking forward to it. Maybe now my Deacs can win a conference football title.

I read an article on the UT sports website a couple of weeks ago that said they weren't recruiting Leak anymore.

Quite honestly I don't think Mauk fits w/ Grobe's offense. (Grobe ain't exactly an "air it out" kind of coach) But Mauk has 1200+ yds and 15 TD's. I think that's for this season, but I should confirm if that's season or career totals. (1200 yds rushing ain't bad for a QB)

BTW, nice joke Scoop! One day maybe you'll be able to answer the only serious football questions that get asked about your "power football" conference. After all you know football!
