Can't go wrong with Master of Puppets.... I went through that one again a few days ago... MoP was the 2nd Metallica album I ever listened to, the first was The Black Album. I'll agree that TBA was a different sound that pre-TBA. I liked both sounds personally... TBA, IMO, was the sound Metallica could have done all along with a good producer...cleaner... better sound mix... ect... That said, some of the rawness of the prior albums is kind of what makes them them. I think of their earlier works which I came across in the order of MoP, RtL, AJFA, and then KeA I'd rate MoP by fave, then Justice, then Lightning, the KeA. KeA was just a little too raw on sound and while it had some great tunes they really perfected their sound with each successive album.
