I don't believe the hype surrounding them. I've d/l a bunch of their tunes. Some of them are decent. I particularlly like the tracks "Cigarette Smoke" and "A Certain Romance." Give me some Elbow!!!

hell yea, elbow are awesome. they seem to fly under the radar, but i like it that way. asleep in the back is awesome; "scattered blacks and whites" is prob one of my all time favs. the new album leaders of the free world is really good too.

oh, and sorry but arctic monkeys blow. hard.

The Arctic Monkeys would be a lot better, had there not be the amount of hype there currentley is behind them. I like a couple of their tracks, but they aren't worthy of the status they've for some reason already achieved.

Been digin the new Godsmack and not so for the new LL Cool J cd.

Also in my rotation this week:
Velvet Revolver, Ausioslave (both cds), A Tribe Called Quest ( THe Love Movement...GREAT CD), Kid Rock (Kid Rock...a real good cd IMO...more rock and less rap than other efforts by him), Limp Bizkit ( Results May Vary) and misc. tunes of some Nelly, Ludacriss, Jay Z, Dr Dre, Ice Cube, The Game, NWA, and Ice T.

Anyone catching VH1's 40 greatest metal songs?
http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/the_greates...list.jhtml

They have some interesting choices and they definatley don't pick the "popular" metal tunes all the time.

Case in point the picked up Sepultura: Refuse/Resist, Pantera: Walk & Cowboys from Hell, and Slayer: Reign in blood.

Beefs w/ list:

Def Leppard: High N Dry? Not that the song isn't good but of Def Lepp's catalog I wouldn't say its the MOST metal of their tunes.

Metallica: No Seek and Destroy or One? Granted enter Sandman and Master Of Puppets were great tunes.

Guns N Roses: Paradise City? I love the song but in a MOST metal list I am not sure it qualifies.

Korn: Freak on a Leash? I would have thought Blind would get the nod for anything htey have done.

Rage Against the Machine gets nothing off their first cd?

Skid Row: Slave to the Grind? I love Skid Row but I don't see that tune making aT 40 cut.

I have never heard I'm 18 by ALice Cooper.

Listening to Wolfmother. It's like Led Zepplin reincarnate... not quite, but almost, as close as you're (not you personally) gonna get.

Checking out the new Red Hot Chili Peppers cd Stadium Arcadium.

As far as review goes.... I like to listen to RHCP when I wan t upbeat funky music (except Under the Bridge 04-rock ) and when they go too much mellow they get unenjoyable quick. So basically I loved Blood Sugar Sex Majik and hated By THe Way. This cd is about 20/80 upbeat funk/ mellow split..however the mellow isn't as boring as By The Way's was.

I love the new Red Hot Chilli Peppers sooo much more. Their past two albums have been my favs. Listening to Azure Ray "Rise" and Antony and the Johnsons, "You are my sister." Some Aqualung too.

For a little history of Southern America, check out the Drive By Truckers "The Three Great Alabama Icons." Puts a different spin on former 'Bama Gov. Wallace. Said he was a progressive lawyer , but changed his views, once he lost his campaign for govnah. He lost to a segregationist. After that he ran on a segregation platform soley to appease the constituents, and to gain power.

What happens when you mesh bluegrass and Metallica? Metallica as interpreted by a bluegrass band, that's what!! Iron Horse rocks! Far better than Metallica. Check out "Unforgiven" and "Enter Sandman."

I'm absolutely in love with Iron and Wine. F*ck dude. Iron and Wine kicks so much ass. So romantic, mellow, melodic, concise, and never, never overdone. Some of my mates say they can only listen to him in moderation, but I can't get enough. Same goes for Imogen Heap. Yeah, she might have some songs on the OC soundtrack, but she's supercool nontheless.

A buddy at work let me borrow Mobb Deep: Blood Money and Ludacris represents Disturbing Tha Peace. I had high hopes for the cds but alas only a few good songs exist on each cd. IMO save your money and Itunes or whatever to get what you like off of these cds.

IN exchange I let him borrow Gza/Genious Liquid Swords and Dr Dre's The Chronic and Chronic 2001. He defiantley got the better end of this deal. 03-weeping
