NTR: Boxing at FedEx
I didn't realize tonight's HBO fights were from Memphis...apparently neither did Memphis, Tennessee. What's up twith that crowd? Looks like our basketball games at the Green House.

BTW, did Spinks not having the dumbest walk out, I mean dance out, I mean rap out to teh ring in the history of boxing? Must have made his real boxer father and uncle real proud there. Wow. If you didn't see, go to youtube. Surely someone will publish that little clip.

Peace.

Boxing is not what it used to be.

Back in my days, we would walk 20 miles in the rain and snow to watch real boxers like Ali and Frazier in a building with no AC.

Those were the days.

Unfortuately, most people showed up late for just the main event.
The best fight was the undercard with Kelly Pavlik-he beat the snot out of Miranda.

Typical Memphians. Not there to see boxing. Just there to be seen and say they were there.

My Dad boxed in the Marines and as a really little girl I can remember him taking me with him to boxing matches....must have warped my mind because I despise boxing and type of fighting. 01-wingedeagle

Taylor may be the titleholder, but he's not a star yet. I don't know what ticket prices usually are for a fighter of his caliber, but weren't the club level prices $100?

For a championship fight you know beforehand that the lowest ticket price will be around $100. Don King and Tyson effectively killed a lot of interest in boxing.

If they legitimately sold 10,000 tickets like they said, and with more coming from the expensive seats, then I think the thing sold well.
