Now that the Bowl selections have been announced...

Florida State played 13 teams this year...

ELEVEN OF THEM ARE GOING TO BOWLS!

I would like to know who in the country played more!

Despite our little internal problems that we had at
mid-season...We are deserving of where we are going.

We will win and finish in the top 10.

We will be playing a team that has already ATTAINED
their season's goal.

We will be facing a team with an immobile QB...One runner
and its top receiver, drops balls in big games!

Rix is back at the controls...
Maddox will be healthy...
Our entire line will be healthy (for the first time since the
Duke game)

And of all the BCS teams...Wash. State, Oklahoma, Miami,
Ohio State, Iowa, So Calif...we get the easy one...Georgia!

Another 10 win season...Back in the top 10...and with
all of our skill players returning on Offense next year,
except for Maddox...17 of our top 22 on defense...and
the experience gained by our younger offensive linemen
due to all the injuries...what a great springboard to
Spring practice.

3 biggest challengers to our crown next year will be
Maryland, UVA and Clemson and we get Maryland
in Tally. Clemson on the road will be tough (it always
is), Duke was young and will be improved, but not that
improved. Same with Carolina. UVA will be a BIG road
game next year.

Out of Conference...Notre Dame and Florida away...
Revenge for one...Thank Heavens for Zook...in the other.
Home games vs Miami and Colorado!

Tech, Wake and NC State come to Tally. I expect to
see Wake as our final home game before we play
Florida...

Something like this...

@Duke
Colorado
Ga Tech
@ No Carolina
Miami
Open Date
@ UVA
NC State
@ Notre Dame
Open Dtae
Maryland
@Clemson
Wake Forest
@Florida

Not for certain...But something like that.

Thank heavens for "schedule preference...huh?"

Paul, the only positive dates on our 2003 schedule is our OOC with
Colorado Sept. 20th
@ Notre Dame Nov.1st
Miami and Florida will probably be the same as any other year, with one in Oct and the other in Nov.
Believe it or not, I wish we would drop Florida and get another team from another conference, every year after we play them whether we win or lose there is always some stupid accusations being made.
All the way back to Spurrier and the 'late hits' we put on Wuerffel.
We play 11-13 games a year, ever wonder why Florida is the only one to complain when they play us??
I guess Spurriers recruiting motto is true.... "If you whine, your mine"

They have a mobile backup QB who spells Greene occasionally.

Hey Witty,

Where are your team colors? Who do you root for? You are quoted as saying that you dislike UGA but you hate FSU more. Well, who do you like? Anyone who is winning?

No. Ever think there would be a reason for my posting a compliment on your UGA yadda yadda Bowl thread? I am an Arkansas fan.

Well then fly your colors pal!

Arkansas had a hell of a 2nd half season this year. Another school screwed by the bowls. Cotton takes a LSU team that was beaten in beautiful come from behind fashion by the team they should have taken to face Texas.

It's too bad they based their decision on your last game. Not supposed to work like that.

Good luck in Nashville. Glad to know who your team is.

Why thank you. I never brought my affiliation up over here because I figured it would cloud some of the discussion. You have proved yourself to be fairly respectable by not flooding the Arkansas boards. I do show my Arkansas colors in most places. I just never brought it up over here. Yeah, the screwjob is in bowl-wise. I am damn proud of my boys' performance since losing our local drugdealer :bang: . Maybe he should've been kicked off the team earlier. We might've ended up beating Bama, UT, and UK as well. Couldn't have hurt our bowl picture any. I hope the Hogs don't go into the tank by thinking they deserve better and get throttled by Minnesota.

I don't blame the Cotton for taking LSU. Arkansas has been there two of the last three years, facing Texas once during that time. The Capital One Bowl is the one that really screwed us over. The other bowls already inked their SEC participants a week or so ago so I can't complain as much towards them.

Witty,

You should have proclaimed your allegiance sooner. I have nothing but respect for Arkansas and have followed them since the days of Lou Holtz and the old SWC. I agree with your assessment that the Capital One screwed Arkansas by taking Auburn. The conferences, the BCS, and the remaining bowls need to work out better agreements after the current contracts expire in 2005. Arkansas was the #2 SEC team. PERIOD. As such they should be in the Captial One. I know UGI would agree with me 100%.

Arkansas had its share of problems this year but you gotta have faith in Houston Nutt. He is a class act as is Mark Richt. I firmly believe that Nutt and Richt will soon be the standards by which all other SEC coaches will be measured.

Witty,

An astute observation on the Music City Bowl. Georgia ended up there last year when they were hoping for the Cotton and I don't think the team could ever get up for that game. It showed in the way they played and lost.

I hope your Hogs don't get caught napping the way the Dogs did last December. Besides, you are playing Glen Mason's Gophers and no self-respecting 'Dogs fan cares for Glen Mason! Go Hogs!

WOW - and I thought you were an Ole Miss fan there Witty. I guess that's cause your profile says you live in Oxford and I just assumed you were a student at Ole Miss ... my bad. :D

Now why in the world would you hate Florida State??? 03-confused Jealous perhaps :D

Ahhha, luckdawg, Florida State does NOT suck. You just can't stand the fact that you think you got stuck playing us in the Sugar. Next year, don't lose to Florida and then you and your team will be able to decide your own fate and not have to leave it up to the BCS and their mess after deciding who is #1 and #2...  I don't think Ohio State should have been the #2 team and Miami will CREAM "EM !!!

PS I take Old Man Bowden any day 04-cheers

I just mutually dislike the state of Florida when it comes to sports. Nothing personal. I used to hate Bowden with a passion but that subsided a bit when I read his little book of beliefs for a psychology project. I was born in Arkansas but moved to Mississippi. I do attend Ole Miss but I guess it hasn't corrupted/adopted me yet.

Well, Witty, I do like you if you haven't figure that out yet. :D My buds from Ole Miss (NewspaperRebel to be exact) found this board and brought me over with them. That's why you see me posting over there. My husband's relatives (a few of them) live in Mississippi and the rest are in Louisiana (New Orleans). I love visiting them. A lot different than Florida. But I do like living in sw Florida cause I can't hardly stand the cold any more. I have a son at Troy State in Alabama. Like that state too.

04-cheers

Wow luckydawg, I think we finally got through to MsNole and I really think she gets the whole meaning of my Sugar Bowl Post!

And for your information MsNole, if UGA had beaten FLA, we would more than likely still be ranked 3rd behind Miami and Ohio St., so the FLA game really was not a defining moment for our season. But it continues to be THE defining moment in FSUs 4 loss Atlantic Crap Conference Championship season.

The only thing that would have changed would be a 13-0 team playing the 9-4 team that nobodu wanted in the same damn bowl.

No dear. I just dislike the BCS and wish they would have a play off system like they do in the pros. And speaking of pros, I also wish they would go to the instant replay of a ref's call in college ball too. God help us, but some of those refs can't see worth nothing  If Georgia was 9-4 and we were 12-1, I sure wouldn't have come over to your board and BITCHED and MOANED about having to play YOU. Of course, that just shows that I have a MORE POSTIVE attitude. After all, it's only a game... :D

The actual response is "Act like you've been there!"

That's the problem with the Dawgs...Florida...the entire
SEC, for that matter...

"Act like you've been there!"

Georgia has been wallowing so long as an also-ran, they
don't know how to behave.

They are one year wonders..."adrift in a sea of dreams!"

They want to moan and grown about how bad they are
and they STILL can't beat the most pathetic Florida football
team, in the past 15 years.

The good thing about this entire scenario...they will disappear
from view after this year and return to also-ran status.

It's called..."Clouded thoughts caused by inbreeding!"

To further their case...they should be applauding Florida
State's selection, to further their own cause, rather than
bad-mouthing...and then when they do lose to Florida State
they will have some basis to defend the laughter that will
come their way.

They like to get personal. Haha haha haha haha haha haha

"If they only knew...huh?"

Ohio State hasnt been to the Big Game since 1968 and what do they do? Burn cars!!
The auto insurance companies in Ohio are probably hoping for a Miami victory.
On Jan. 3rd you can guarantee the insurance companies will be watching the game :frown: :frown: :frown: .
Correct you are MsNole, its only a game, if UGA wins they only beat a 9-4 team, so who cares, no one will notice.
If UGA loses, then its a whole new story. Alot more pressure on UGA then FSU...ALOT MORE!!!
I still cant understand all the comotion from UGA fans anyway, you'd think they were playing for the National Championship. 20 years and going to the Sugar bowl, well more power to them.

Once again you guys make my point for me. We have nothing to gain playing FSU and everything to lose.

UGA fans are not alone here in this thinking. It is the common denominator in every bowl conversation I have seen, heard or read on TV, radio, newspapers and the Internet. UGA and the Sugar Bowl got royally screwed.

The only people that don't get it is you guys. Your coach is embarassed and knows you don't belong there. Why don't you guys get it? Forest for the trees kind of thing?
