Fellow FSU fans (or the 3-4 of you on the BBS). Just wanted to raise a non-football issue with all of you. It appears now that your protecting, nuturing moderators have resorted to censorship of my posts.

They have moved my posts, deleted my posts and edited my posts. I have not cursed and I have never intentionally started a ruckus with anyone in here. The only harsh words that have been spoken were when some of your own have resorted to smack talk in the midst of a good discussion. This usually happened when they were painted into a corner by me while making a good point.

Censorship in not healthy in any environment including these silly BBS'. For more information on the harm of censorship to our society please go to the National Coalition Against Censorhip at:

http://www.ncac.org

Censorship is bad in any type environment. When your moderators here edit, delete and move your posts, your 1st Amendment Rights are being violated.

My posts are being censored because your moderators don't like the contents of them. These posts have not broken any rules and certainly were not as inflamatory as some of the one's directed at me that were not censored.

Your moderators are chumps and you should take a stand against these 1st Amendment violations no matter who you root for. Whether you realize it or not, they are dictating not only what we post, but what you are allowed to read.

YOUGEEAYE, then why bother having the edit or delete buttons if were not supposed to use them? Its a matter of opinion on what gets edited, deleted, or moved, and its not an easy choice.
One moderator may not be offended by what is posted while another will not put up with certain things on the board. Foul language and threats are OUT. So are personal attacks and so on, but its the moderators decision what stays and what goes.
Im also not to happy about a topic being started and then replies come in with one or two word sentences. For what? Thats a waste of time and space.
There is an area called the verbal assault where alot of 'smack' should be held, but for some reason people dont get the idea and come to a teams message board and start the 'smack'.
If im not mistaking, it was you or luckydawg who replied in a post about when UGA wins you will bring this board down to its knees. Thats fine but keep it in the verbal assault area, if you do that here or anyone else does it here, then it will be delted.
My main thing here is to keep it clean, thats all I ask.
Think about it. How are people supposed to respond if a fan of another team comes to a board with negative comments?
Do you think they will reply with a thank you, have a nice day comment?
Next thing you know it starts turning into a whole new post full of attacks, and again we have a place for that... VERBAL ASSAULT
If its more than that, I think you should contact the board adminisrators and let them handle this situation

Using this board is a priviledge, NOT a right. And you're making it less enjoyable for others to use.

There's a difference between talking smack (if so, it belongs on the SMACK TALK FORUM) and trying to piss off the locals. You're evidently on a quest to do the second of the two.

MsNole and I have talked about this already.

Please tone it down.

Talking smack? Me? Talk to Paul and MsMole. The two of them started the name calling, continued the name calling and made this unenjoyable for everyone. My post was not smack, but the "locals" here turned it into smack, not me.

Oh, and swagger...Learn to spell. And as long as I can register here and join discussions for free, it is not a privilege. Get a life for goodness sakes. You guys have turned this into a war.

As a matter of fact, I have gotten apology emails from some of your "locals" about Paul, Garnet and MsMole about the way I have been treated in here.

Witty,

If you mean I am not a member of the Gestapo that is running this BBS, you're right. If you mean that this will shut me up, you're wrong.

Noley,

You know what? I like you. For some strange reason I do. Please don't ever take anything I say as being directed at you. It is not my intention to offend anybody, really. I agree we should all get along.

I am just trying to support my friend with a little righteous indignation.

And I am VERY glad that FSU is going to the Sugar Bowl. I hope its a great game for all of us. (just as long as GA wins)!

I think UGI made it clear in a previous post that a few members apologized privately for the way he was being treated by the rest of the group.

And I think it is clear you have posted your support in the past.

It's been interesting lurking for several months and watching several FSU posters gain confidence & then jump right into the abyss of insanity. Phonetic UGA wasn't imagining things, IMO.

I'm sure this post will be considered bannable by the administration of this forum. No skin off my nose...just providing some observations from afar...and considering my aversion for anything remotely related to that "school" in Athens, that should tell you something about how I am not sticking up for UGA against FSU... 05-nono

If you want to smack the moderators and adminstrators on these boards, I suggest you go to the smack board Lucy or forever hold your tongue or typing finders. This is NOT a SMACK board. We have 2 other boards for that very reason.

MsNole,

It isn't smack to criticize you for censorship. You have engaged in censorship simply because you disagreed with people. I know you have had a rough week, but that does not give you the right to play god on this board.

Hear are some questions that need some answers:

Exactly how long have you been the mod on this board?

By what authority do you moderate this board?

HOW LONG DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTINUE TO ALIENATE YOUR FRIENDS ON THIS BOARD?

Here's an outsider's view....

I can't comment on the smack talk or subsequent moving and deletion of posts because I didn't witness any of that to know what happened.

But, I think this is a case of everyone trying to take a little more than they are due.

The mods on this board have the privilege of monitoring what is discussed on here. They can decide what is and isn't said. This is a privately owned and operated board -- so nobody has the "right" to post on here.

UGA fans needs to realize that when they post on this board. Because this is an FSU board, they should respect the mods and posters on this board even when they disagree with them. They should respect GTS because -- as an admin -- he pays for all of us to post here. He also works hard to keep this board up and running.

However, it would really behoove the mods on this board (and GTS) if they stayed away from double standards. Once again, I don't know what has happened lately on this board -- but I have seen some instances of "smack talk" perpetrated by the mods on this board in the past. When they participate in that but won't let others do it, that is a double standard.

It's not "a violation of First Amendment rights" per se, given the nature of this board. But, I think it's a little unwise because it tells anyone who comes to this board that the mods are always going to get the upperhand in discussions. It says to everyone: "We will only allow what we want said on this forum." If that's the case, then nobody is going to post on here anymore... and I know that we all don't want that.

UGA fans: understand where you are (an FSU forum) and take the discussion back to the game. Your objections and criticism are surely planted throughout the threads of this board -- and the mods haven't deleted all of those, as of yet. You've said your peace, so it would be wise to get back to the sports talk.

Mods: be a little more patient with fans of other teams who criticize FSU on here. There is a limit to what they should say and do, but a good mod will know when to take action and when to hold back that trigger finger. I'm certain that there were some things said by the UGA fans that deserved to be moved/deleted -- but I would also bet that there is a lot that shouldn't have been touched. Draw that line in the sand, and then follow those rules yourself, too. It will gain you a lot of respect from the people on this board....

-JD
