From the Associated Press this morning:
FSU SUSPENDS ANOTHER STARTER
Bobby Bowden sent his FSU players home for the holidays without much cheer Saturday.
Starting defensive tackle Darnell Dockett has been suspended for the Sugar Bowl after an incident at a Tallahassee shopping mall two days earlier.
Dockett, who has not been charged in any wrongdoing, started all 13 games for FSU and led the defensive line with 58 tackles.
"Darnell has been suspedned for the Sugar Bowl and will not make the trip. It's an internal discipline thing." Bowden told the Tallahassee Democrat on Saturday.
Despite being hampered by an Achillies tendon injury, the junior broke Ron Simmons' record for career tackles for loss (44). Dockett, who was already considering an early entrance into the NFL draft, will be replaced by senior Tony Benford in the Sugar Bowl.

From the Tallahassee Democrat...
"Police obtain arrest warrant for FSU's Dockett"
Tallahassee police obtained an arrest warrant today for Darnell Dockett, a defensive tackle for Florida State University's football team, charging him with grand theft.
Police had been investigating an incident involving Dockett that occurred a store in Governor's Square Mall in Tallahassee Dec. 17. Two employees of the store have also been charged. Police said all three suspects have made arrangements to turn themselves in at the Leon County Jail.

Future? Grand Theft? His future is FSP, FSU. That would be be Florida State Penitentiary.

Things aren't looking too rosy for his future...(article from the Orlando Sentinel)
Quote:FSU's Dockett arrested, charged with grand theft
By Josh Robbins | Sentinel Staff Writer
Posted January 9, 2003
TALLAHASSEE -- Florida State defensive tackle Darnell Dockett was arrested Wednesday after being charged with felony grand theft for allegedly receiving an unauthorized discount for clothing purchased at a Tallahassee store.
An arrest affidavit filed by a Tallahassee Police Department investigator said Dockett paid a total of $107 for three items at the Sports Fan-Attic store in Governor's Square mall Dec. 19.
The merchandise -- a Philadelphia 76ers shooting shirt and official NFL jerseys bearing the names of San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson and Kansas City Chiefs running back Priest Holmes -- is valued at $1,009.78, police said.
Dockett turned himself in at the Leon County jail and was released on $1,000 bail. As he left the jail, Dockett declined to answer questions.
Dockett's attorney, Stephen S. Dobson III, said Dockett will plead not guilty.
Arrest warrants also were issued for two Sports Fan-Attic employees, Kambe Roberson, 19, and Taisha Bailey, 21. Police said they conspired to give Dockett an unauthorized discount and then receive a fee for that discount.
Police said after the purchase was made, Dockett gave Roberson and Bailey $200, and that FSU offensive tackle Alex Barron witnessed the transaction. Barron hasn't been charged.
University spokesman Rob Wilson said school policy prohibits Dockett, 21, from playing for the Seminoles until the legal issue is settled.
