This was in today's CA, I was mainly focused on the Business Plan class being held over on campus, but the other two items are also noteworthy as well.
Business plan class scheduled
Anyone interested in learning how to write a business plan is invited to a seminar at 6 p.m. Thursday in room 314 at the FedEx Institute of Technology on the University of Memphis campus.
The seminar on marketing and financial projections is part of the FedEx Institute Business Plan Competition, an ongoing series of seminars and contests.
Also Thursday, organizers of the contest will announce the winners of the contest to write the best business plan executive summary.
The deadline to enter a separate contest for writing a full business plan is April 20. The top prize is $25,000.
For more information, visit fedex.memphis.edu/bizplan or call 678-5105.
Hands on Memphis
Get out your jeans, your heavy duty boots and your work gloves -- the 13th annual Hands on Memphis Servathon is coming up.
The first event since Hands on Memphis merged with Volunteer Memphis will be April 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers for the projects -- either groups or individuals -- may sign up to paint, plant, build or clean in neighborhoods and for community organizations.
Registration costs $20 for adults, $15 for 10 to 14 year olds in advance, $5 more each on the day of the event. That includes a T-shirt and lunch at First Congregational Church, 1000 S. Cooper.
You may register on line at handsonmemphis.org.
