Does anybody here read it? If so, what do you think of it?

I was a long-time subscriber...probably for about 10 years. I didn't renew my subscription once I became a regular reader of ACCBoards. I found I was getting much of the same information there, and in a more timely manner (and for free). Many readers have complained in the past that the Poop Sheet takes a pro-Tobacco Road slant & leaves the rest of the ACC out, but I found that generally the writers gave a decent balance to news from all 9 schools.

With all of the recruiting sites and information available on the internet, the Poop Sheet may be redundant. It's all in what you're looking for, and how it's packaged.

I know someone who subscribes, and he said it's (like Lucy said) mostly Duke, UNC and State stuff. He said he doesn't get any facts from it, just some interesting rumors... you know what I mean.

IMO, I think it's a classy editorial type site, if I had to guess.

JD: Here is a thread discussing the Poop Sheet pro & con from the Wake board at ACCBoards. An interesting observation was made that often the Poop Sheet does have articles on issues that your standard newspapers wouldn't touch, so I thought you might like to read these opinions as well.

I'll check that out. My interest was piqued by a thread on the Tar Pit (UNC football board) that discussed the value of the Poop Sheet. Of course many Carolina fans are turned off by the whole story on possible discord at UNC basketball practices -- the writers admitted that the story was solely based on rumors. That caused a bit of an uproar among folks who stated that they think a publication like the Poop Sheet should be above printing articles based on rumors.

Surprisingly (to me at least), a lot of UNC fans came to the defense on the Sports Journal and said that they didn't begrudge that story. They say that the Poop Sheet is really expected to dig deeper than other publications to bring "the scoop" -- and it usually results in some sound analysis about all the teams in the ACC. Perhaps sometimes it also has stories that are off-base, but a lot of people seem to stick by it anyway.

I thought that was interesting.

Oh interesting...someone posted the entire article from the Poop Sheet and it was later deleted (probably because it was from a premium area). I read the whole article when Yankee in Atlanta posted it and the Poop Sheet really did give balance between the 2 sides, which is what it is known for, delving into issues, but managing to remain neutral.

Luckily the article was up long enough for UDC's cache to catch it:

The Poop Sheet was gospel at one time. I dont get it anymore. Dave Telep and a few other Premium sites do the trick.
