NTR Computer and Phone Questions
We just moved our new offices and due to a last minute lease signing due to legal problems with the lease and our current lease expiring today, we had to hold up on phone lines and Internet connections. We are in a high rise office building. Here are the questions:
1. We need internet and phone service. What is the best way to go? We have a choice of Time Warner Cable for DSL lines (5 to 7 work days to install) or Verizon. If we go Time Warner, we can get our phone service through the Internet with a company like Vonage. I have heard mixed reviews on Vonage and that sometimes the quality is poor.
2. We need a good small business phone system. Just 6 extensions and one fax line that can be expandable to 12 extensions later on. Can anyone recommend good equipment at a resonable price? The staff is using their personal cell phones and personal computers at home for a while until we get this worked out and we have a service that will send and receive faxes and answer and take messages at our previous phone number, so we can still function.
Thanks for any input.

if you can get Verizon's FIOS service, that's faster than anything TW can give you.

You don't want Vonage. Its probably alright for home, but not for work. Its about the same quality as a cell phone i.e dropped calls and breakup on occassions, plus if your internet goes down so do your phones.
