I've heard this place is great. I ate there Saturday and was very disappointed. Did I order the wrong thing? Anyone else have an opinion on this place?

I love Lobster King and think it is some of the best chinese food in Memphis. Did you try the Dim Sum? On Sunday mornings (maybe Saturday too) and afternoon they push around the Dim Sum carts. That with a hot cup of tea is great. Also, I know you can order Dim Sum ala carte during the week off a menu.

I also like their lunch specials. I've never eaten there at night, so can't say how it is then.

Also, check out the Vietnamese store next to the restaurant for a very exotic shopping experience.

I forgot about Lobster King! never mind on the "memphis is lacking a good seafood restaurant" comment in the crab legs thread....

I went there for the first time a couple of months ago, and LOVED it. there were 8-10 of us, and you can bring in your own wine. We all ordered random dishes, and sampled from the lazy susan in the middle.

the seafood sampler appetizer thing is awesome - there wasn't a bad thing on it, although it's a ton of food.

the cranberry shrimp is great, my husband ordered the general tso's chicken, and was very happy w/that as well. we also had fish w/broccoli in a black bean sauce that rocked, and a few other things.

i'd go back & try something new if i were you....for the price, it's worth the second go-around. i know a friend of mine got a whole lobster for dirt cheap.

...and yes, the market next door is interesting, but has great stuff. olive oil, veggies, etc, for CHEAP.
