Hey there guys,

I'm brand new to this board and I found it by just browsing the internet. I'm a die hard UNC fan even though I am not an Alumni from UNC. I've been a Tarheel fan for as long as I can remember and I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.

If UNC can keep McCants and Felton and get May back healthy, they are going to one hell of a team to stop in the upcoming year or two.

By the way, GOOD GAME TARHEELS TODAY!!!

DIE DOOK!!!

Yeah I never knew the ACC had it's own message board. Thanks for the kinda words JJ.

I must say now though, I'm not too happy that UVA beat Maryland tonight...now that means Duke and UNC meet again in the first round of the ACC tourny. I definitely would like to see UNC play someone a little less powerful in their first round game.

Welcome! There are actually a couple of other boards too, but I don't think we link to them as a matter of courtesy to the board owners here.

Just joined the board and want to say hey.
Been a Carolina Fan forever. Yesterday was a great day for Carolina Fans. Hopefully this will give us some momentum for the ACC tourney. I see much better days in the future. Best of luck to the Lady Heels tonight and throughout their tournament. And kudos to the Wrestling Team. Man I could go on and on. Its great to be a Tarheel and a Tarheel Fan. :D

It does get frustrating sometimes to see new posters and encouraging posts about the team only when they pull off a huge win.

Still, I'd like to welcome all the newcomers to the board! Stick around and give us some insight....

Well although I'm a new poster, it definitely wasn't because of the big win yesterday. It was more of a "hmm I wonder if there is a community of people that get together and just sit around and talk about UNC and college sports in general". So I found this place and low and behold made my first post last night (first post of many I hope).

This board has a small, but growing, community of posters. Lately, we've just been hit by a lot of drive-by posting. We seem to get a lot of one-timers that either post right after a big win or right after a big loss... and then they never come back. I think that's what frustrates some of the "regulars" at times.

That said, welcome aboard -- and I look forward to seeing many more of your posts!

Right on JD....well I'm definitely not one of those one time posters or "big game" posters. I wish I had thought about looking for this type of community a long time ago. I have been a UNC fan since I was about 9 years old. So hopefully one day I'll be one of those "regulars" on this board.

I love just sitting around chatting about college basketball and college football especially when UNC is involved in the conversation.

You're what we would call a "sidewalk alum" -- the term of endearment for the fans who didn't attend UNC but are as die-hard (or moreso) as the actual alums. That's not to be confused with "bandwagon fans" -- those who didn't attend the university and abandon their team when the times are rough. I don't care much for that crowd... but sidewalk alums are some of the best Carolina fans out there.

hah...never heard that term before but I would say that that applies to me 100%. I didn't attend UNC but I will root for all their teams (guys and girls) to no end...through thick and thin. I've even thought about doing my graduate work there just to say that I'm an official "Tarheel" :D

:bang: After a quite extensive search of the internet, with the help of Google, I have no idea what a "tarheel" is. I guess I've actually been a "Tar Heel" fan since I got on the band wagon when I was six years old. That was back in 1957 and I've never ever thought of jumping off. I was very lucky to be born in Brevard, N.C. Growing up I got to see alot of UNC sports. In the off season some of the Heels would tour the state and play exhibition games. One I fondly remember was of Larry Miller and Henry Logan of Western Carolina. They put on a great game. Anyway sports have come along way and I don't think all of the progress has been good but you've got to put up with some not so good things to make some progress.
I no longer live in N.C. but satelite tv helps and the message boards keep me informed even though all the news on Coach Doh has my head spinning. My son and I usually make it to Chapel Hill for at least one football game and a game or two of BB. Anyway, I'm glad to be a member here and I'll chirp in ever now and then.

GO TAR HEELS
