The Herb thread worked so well, I decided to start this one.
Things seem better IMO since O'Cain went to Clemson.

Yup, things seem to be working out pretty well. OK, general O'Cain question: there was a rumor a while back that App State was looking at him. I assume nothing ever came of that. (I know, I know; for I am Beavis, defender of the obvious)

We heard the same thing about Brad Scott going to the Citadel - never happened.
You guys got someone behind Rivers at QB?
I thought Beavis was Cornholio (and he needed teepee for his bunghole - and he was a gringo)?

Chuck Amato
He has built a national contender right here at NC State. Last year was our best ever. We did have those three disappointing losses, but at least we were in each game (within a score of winning each one). Last season was our best ever -- and we should be better and deeper at almost every position this year.
Edit:
Yes, we have Marcus Stone coming this fall. Not that he'll be ready the first game, but also, at the spring game, our reserve Chris Moore played quite well. The good news for Pack fans is our surrounding talent will be taking a lot of the load off Rivers. Our O-line will help any QB, as will our TBs (including Heisman darkhorse McClendon). And our receiving corps this year is so talented they'd make any QB look good.

I think Chuck has done a great job so far.
The only thing that worries me is the giddiness of many fans which reminds me an awful lot of how many Wolfpackers behaved during Herb Sendek's first few years as head coach. Now we hear almost nothing from them but irrational doom and gloom.
N.C. State fans seem to have a problem finding a happy medium between unbridled optimism and crushing defeatism. I just hope that any struggles we may have on the gridiron down the road don't elicit the same kind of bi-polar reaction.
