(U-WIRE) MANHATTAN, Kan. -- A fifth Kansas State football player was arrested Monday -- the fifth in just one month.
Daniel Davis, a junior running back, was arrested for two counts of failure to appear. His bond was set at $380 for the first count. No bond was set for the second.
Riley County Police Department Lt. Kurt Moldrup said Davis was being confined for his second count, which stemmed from an April 25 arrest. Moldrup said as a result of that arrest, Davis was sentenced to report to the jail for 90 days. Those days, he would be required to stay at the jail. After serving 10 days, Davis would have been granted parole.
However, Davis did not report to the jail, resulting in a no-bond arrest for failure to appear. Moldrup said he had no further information regarding the April 25 arrest. Assistant County Attorney Brenda Jordan was in court and unavailable for comment.
Travis Wilson, junior fullback, was arrested June 28 for battery, battery of an officer, criminal damage to property, obstruction of the legal process and aggravated intimidation of a witness.
Moldrup said Wilson had battered his girlfriend and was standing over her when officers arrived. When officers announced themselves, Wilson approached one of them and shoved the officer in the chest. He also threatened his girlfriend not to say anything to police, resulting in the aggravated intimidation of a witness charge. Wilson was released on $5,000 bond.
Allen "Tank" Reese was arrested twice for driving on a suspended license on June 7 and June 24; Bryan Hickman, junior linebacker, was arrested June 15 for disorderly conduct; and Derrick Evans, junior wide receiver, was arrested June 8 for unlawful possession of substances and possession of simulated controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Athletic Director Tim Weiser, Senior Associate Athletic Director Jim Epps, Coach Bill Snyder and Sports Information Director Doug Dull all were unavailable for comment regarding the arrests and their consequences.
