No. 1 Florida State Baseball Travels To Maryland
Game times are set for Friday at 7:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 1:00
p.m.

#1 FLORIDA STATE (41-8-1, 13-5 ACC)
The Seminoles moved up to No. 1 in all 3 major polls after taking two of three at Gergia Tech last weekend. Florida State traveled to Jacksonville on Tuesday evening and totaled 20 hits in an 11-3 win over the Dolphins. FSU leads the ACC with a 13-5 league mark and finishes off the regular season with 3 games at Maryland this weekend and 3 at Duke the following week. Georgia Tech is second in the league at 12-6, followed by NC State (14-7) and North Carolina (11-7).The Seminoles can clinch their 3rd straight regular season conference title with 5 victories over the next 2 weekends. Right fielder Blake Balkcom was named ACC Player of the Week after going 5-for-11 (.455) in the Tech series with 2 home runs, one double, 4 RBI and
5 runs scored. All-American catcher Tony Richie leads the team in home runs and RBI (.332, 10 HR, 58 RBI).

MARYLAND (19-29, 6-14 ACC)
Maryland is 19-29 on the season after defeating Navy 7-2 on Tuesday. The Terps have won 2 games in each of their last three ACC series (vs. Clemson, at Duke and at NC State) to improve to 6-14 in conference play after starting the year 0-11. Maryland will go with three right-handed starters in the weekend rotation (Sean Kane, Chris Clem, Steve Shmoll). The order has not yet been determined.

THE SERIES
Florida State leads the all-time series with Maryland, 36-3, which dates back to 1965. The Seminoles have won 15 in a row over the Terps since losing the first game of a home series in 1998. Since joining the ACC in 1992, FSU has a 14-1 record at Shipley Field against Maryland.

The rain finally stopped and the Terps and Seminoles are playing baseball tonight 04-cheers

Uh oh, basehit and an error on FSU... Terps have 1 run across and now have runners on 2nd and 3rd. Oh, now they're saying 2 errors on that play. Can't be doing that Seminoles 05-nono

Ritchie hits a ground ball and Drew tries to go home and it called out. :frown: 2 outs for the Noles. Drew collided with the catcher and Maryland's catcher got hurt. Hope he's OK... They're taping up his hand.
