Krzyzewski Announces Decision Today

"Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski announced Monday that the school has granted basketball signee Kris Humphries a qualified release from the national letter-of-intent that he signed in November of 2002.

Duke's lone scholarship freshman in 2003-04 will be Luol Deng from Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J. The 6-8, 220-pound Deng, a Parade and McDonald's All-America in 2003, is widely considered as one of the top two prep players in the nation. "

Word is he wants to be closer to home.......................I'm glad he was smart enough to realize it now instead of halfway through the season.

It's looking more like Duke let Mr. Humphries go than Kris quitting Duke. Kris is talented but not proven. Anyway he and his family apparently made demands to Coach K about Kris' playing time etc while at Duke and let it be known that he would only grace Duke with his presence for one year and then he'd move on to the next level. It seems that Duke now has said "Thanks but no Thanks" to the Humphries "dynasty." I can't say I blame Duke and I'm proud they did. What a message that sends out!!!! Once again Duke leads the way!!
