the ACC will now have SIX Top 25 teams.

Care to revamp ACC vs. SEC discussions?

Especially w/ the 12th team being ND or BC or Cuse or Pitt.

SEC recruiting edge = vaporized.

That is until we get to basketball season & FSU is not the only team embarassing our conference every single year anymore. Now they have VT & Miami to help them. ACC basketball is gonna totally suck with these 2 new schools. Nobody even thought about basketball during this whole expansion thing.

Miami will improve greatly in bball in the ACC.

And UNC/Duke -- get your collective head out of your a**es.

This improves:
- Football
- Baseball
- Golf (M&W)
- Softball
- Volleyball

and given some time:
- Basketball

You are so full of crap, SL! And that my friend is a FACT.

<a href='http://hurricanesports.ocsn.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/clark_perry01.html' target='_blank'>http://hurricanesports.ocsn.com/sports/m-b...rk_perry01.html</a>

Quote:In more than 23 years of collegiate coaching, the last 13 as a head coach, Clark has done one thing consistently - win. As a head coach, Clark has a 225-166 (.575) record including 11 winning seasons, seven 20-win seasons and nine postseason appearances.

In two seasons at Miami, Clark has led the Hurricanes to a 40-21 (.656) record and two consecutive postseason appearances.

In 11 seasons at Tulane, Clark compiled a 185-145 (.561) record, had six 20-win seasons, seven postseason appearances (3 NCAA, 4 NIT) and won the Metro Conference championship in 1992. He was the 1992 National Coach of the Year and a two-time Metro Conference Coach of the Year (1991, 1992).

Yeah, this guy is worthless, can't coach, isn't worth a flip? This guy is successful. His stats show that.

Oh and don't forget about this background too:

Quote:He has learned from some of the greatest basketball coaches the sport has known including Bobby Cremins at Georgia Tech and legendary prep coach Morgan Wooten at DeMatha Catholic High School. And he is a proven cultivator of talent having coached 17 players who have been drafted or have gone on to play in the National Basketball Association.

In 2 seasons at Miami, Perry Clark is 40-21.

Let's look at the records of recent Georgia basketball coaches in their first 2 seasons:

Jim Harrick: 26-35
Ron Jirsa: 35-30
Tubby Smith: 45-19

Only Tubby had a better record, and that was inheriting Hugh Durham's players.

Just for kicks, let's look at the opening 2 year records for some of the newer ACC coaches:

Matt Doherty, UNC: 27-36
Larry Shyatt, Clemson: 30-34
Paul Hewitt, GT: 32-39
Pete Gillen, Virginia: 33-28
Skip Prosser, Wake Forest: 46-18

Well, not everyone can be a Skip Prosser... 03-wink , but my point is that Perry Clark's record at Miami is more than comparable to other major programs, and I think he (and his program) are up to the competition in the ACC. Miami will not be a basketball doormat in their new conference.

Lucy, go learn up on the guy before you speak again. Seems you got a tendency for doing that. Clark left Tulane because he was tired of the place and they wanted him out. He did great things at Tulane but it was always the same. Stale offense, Stale defense, horrible play-calling. He fizzled down the stretch because he couldnt take the pressure. He always was a weird one with interviews and he routinely had problems with fans. He brought in some talent and inherited others from assitants yet he still couldn't win with great teams. Like I said before, he is a joke if you think he will bring Miami to stardom. Lucy, learn your facts honey, you make a fool of yourself.

You said the ACC was going to have a recruiting edge now. But my point was the SEC still dominates recruiting.

My facts speak for themselves. He won at Tulane. He won National Coach of the Year while according to you, he couldn't win. Your opinions blind you to facts, my dear. You'll be a perfect sportswriter for ESPN because you can't spell, you confuse opinion with fact, and when you do attempt to use facts, they are more likely incorrect than not.

You know, the ACC now has just as many top teams as the SEC. However, I think the SEC might be a little stronger top to bottom.

Football
SEC doormat - Vanderbilt
ACC doormat - Duke

SEC also runs - Miss St, Arkansas
ACC also runs - Wake Forest, UNC, Clemson

Georgia Tech?
