It ain't that, lamb chop.

It's the fact you're from Boston, the MOST liberal city east of San Francisco. Plus it is located in the most snooty blue state in the USA.

Boston has a serious attitude problem toward Southerners, even among the menial laborers. I was on a business trip to Boston one April with two other folks (one from MEM and the other Boston) and we chose to dine at Legal Seafood. I requested iced tea with my meal. The waiter looked down his nose at me like I was a barbarian oaf and snootily intoned "iced tea is OUT of season".

His whiney, nasal Yankee voice and condescending attitude motivated me to talk in the most redneck hick slang I could muster. I asked if Cokes were in season. He seemed surprised but said yes.

So I told him to "go step and fetch me a Coke!"

Other Southernisms/poor manners I threw at him included:
- Complimented the fish entree as being "purty good!"
- Pointed at a mounted fish on the wall and loudly claimed "Uncle Jessie caught a bream that big once."
- Explained to him that "someone must be missing their fork 'cause I got two."
- Complained about "not having no tater tots available" for a potato option.
- When he asked if our party wanted dessert, I said it "don't make me no never mind". Then I asked if he had any moon pies.

My friends were having to bite their lip all during the meal.

I could be incorrect, but I believe some people from this board have met him in person at a Tiger game or two.

Even though Bostontiger is a big Tiger fan, he does seem to have a very negative view of the South, especially the state of Mississippi.

Whatever, he's right about one thing, and that's his want for the Tigers to beat the rebels. Those are the real homos to me, guys who happen to like other guys don't bother me, in fact it's less competition for me with the ladies, I'm all for it. Rebel Fans= Too mouthy for having won something like 3 games last year...

hey you have to give em this. they start out the year wanting to
win it all. deep down they know the reality of it all.
they do have some good loyal fans. thats to their credit.

i will never understand them getting behind this coach.
mississippi was known for southern hospitality.

here is my reason for questioning him as their coach. we have
heard alot of stories about him. some known to be true, others
not so true. the problem is no matter how crazy the story is
you tend to believe it just because o is the subject. i just cant
understand mississippi being ok with that.

define "big". If you list Miami, Boston College, Penn St, Rutgers, Duke, & Pepperdine baseball first - can you be a "big" fan of anybody after that?
