C'est la vie.

Kickoff in < 8 days.

He had them ready last year for the greatest running back you have ever or will ever have at Memphis State. So you think you are going to run all over us.

Harley, try to remember two things about the game last year.

1) The strength of the Grove State squad last year was the senior-laden defensive line and LB Willis.

2) Once Patrick Byrne, the TIGER starting QB went down on play # 3, the above referenced senior DL along with the ENTIRE Grove State defense could focus 100% on DeAngelo Williams. He only managed 85 yards.

Then, once Hudgens was somewhat prepared, he got injured in the 3rd game! OUCH! Two QB's gone for the year in 2.5 games!!

Do you subscribe to the theory that adversity brings out the best in people; that it reflects character? MEMPHIS persevered. MEMPHIS whipped an undefeated UTEP team. The TIGERS went to Hattiesburg and beat Southern Mississippi - an opponent Grove State avoids at ALL costs - in a must win game and earned a bowl game bid anyway.

Humor me, b'rer Harley - how did Grove State handle adversity last year? Oh, that's right 3 victories and a season ending humilation by a totally inept Mississippi State team. Thank goodness for those game-ending kneel downs, eh?

lmfao

But why replay last year's game? Or Grove State's embarrassingly poor season? We cannot change history, we can only learn from it.

Hey, why should the denizens of Grove State be concerned about this Mensa candidate Powe anyway? Let him go enroll at the real Harvard (of the north) and pursue his chemical engineering dream!

Oh my gosh - I just realized that with DeAngelo gone to the NFL, MEMPHIS doesn't have any offense whatsoever. Good heavens, what a disaster! Haven't you heard - the TIGER offensive cupboard is totally bare. So I am sure the Grove State defense will be fully up to the task.

;-)

How will the TIGERS cope with those Grove State stalwart athletes next Sunday?? Holy headbutts, Batman - can Coach West match wits with the razor keen intelluct and football acumen of Coach Orgeron? Inquiring minds - as well as a national TV ESPN audience - want to know!

03-melodramatic

Kickoff < 7 days. September 3 beckons. Enjoy the game!

Whats up with the flame? I think it will be a good game and no one is going to blow anyone out. We both have question marks on both sides of the ball. Trust me when you guys came to Oxford last time the game could have been alot worse. I don't expect the same this time though...Good luck...

Nevermind its game week........

How many times do we have to hear about your quarterback getting hurt. They should call you EU for (Excuse University) You had a back up who had been in the system for two years. You would have thought even if he was hurt he could have at least learned the playbook. Obviously the knee injury effected his reading skills. Last year Coach West said he thought Memphis was the better team. If that is true I guess it was coaching. At least Tommy did not try to blame it on the injury. Maybe he should have made sure his backup was ready.

As far as how the season ended up good job in a mid-major conference since you lost to Us and UT (Insert Excuse"D'angelo didn't Play" Injury card agian) that puts you at about 12th in the SEC. It is a little different play Alabama, Auburn, and LSU week in and out. Than playing UT Chattanooga, Rice, Tulane, Houston, etc.

When Mills and Brown left and transferred to Memphis, there was quote after quote from webels about how they weren't any good, weren't going to play @ Miss, # 4 on the depth chart ( I know Mills had already quit football), yada, yada , yada.

I bet Oh No wishes he had one or both those guys now.

Maybe O better start factoring qualifying into his recruiting strategy.

Are those two players even at the top of YOUR depth chart this year?

Everytime your knuckleheads say that Missississippippi "dominated" us last year and everytime they try to relate what Missississippippi did in the 1960s to the games played in the 21st Century.

Mills is #1 @ LE and Brown #2 @ RE. Of course even as depleted as you are on the D line, Coach O would have sent Lane over to DE rather than play those two, right?

Chattanooga...?

Don't you guys play against The Citadel on a regular basis...?

And that's kinda funny, considering we didn't play Tulane and Rice last year, nor will we this year either.

No, our schedule consists of teams like Tulsa, UTEP, and Southern Miss...any three of which would beat the everloving crap out of Mississippi.
