Tropical Storm Ernesto headed to Louisiana???
The Hurricane Center map this afternoon now shows a possible path headed back into southern Louisiana by the end of next week.

I guess it's time to lock up the school buses again. Congrats Crescent City on re-electing the such a genius!

Most of the models has it playing out before then. Something to do with wind shear breaking it up.

The wind shear is only expected to be temporary. It is still expected to reach hurricane status before reaching the Gulf of Mexico.

Of course you can never tell with these things. Hard to believe we are still waiting on the first hurricane of the 2006 season after what we experienced the past few years.

I just got all of our 2004 Orlando claims settled a couple of months ago. The adjusters got "raptured" for Katrina/Rita/Wilma and I could not find them for months. I am very much wishing that there are no hurricanes hitting land this season. The insurance markets are all whacked out.

They've shifted the storm more eastward.

Damn thing needs to shift westward....towards Texas. We need the damn thing, for the rain it would bring. Dryest I've seen it here in 21 years, and hottest as well.

Your NWS map has been updated and Ernesto is now downgraded to a tropical storm. It will go nowhere near Louisiana!

You all can stop panicking now!! rotflmao

I was in Gulf Port Mississippi this weekend doing some Katrina clean up, still one year later, and everyone down there seems really apprehensive. You say hurricane and they kinda have this look of fear. Really is a sad thing. We helped a man tear his house down so that he could rebuild. Damage for the most part was well picked up but from what I hear, a ton is still left to do. Keep those in your thoughts and prayers for the next few months. If y'all want any pics I have a few.
