Hey what about that?

Isn't that what he said the offense he was going to run at Miss b/c that's what was run at USC???

Seems that has changed all of a sudden. They'll be running the Miami offense now.

A minor point but interesting.

It's called adapting, something our previous coach had trouble with. He came in with a plan on how he wanted things to work at Ole Miss. He found out his plan wasn't going to work, at least offensively, so he made the changes he felt necessary to correct that, which basically meant hiring someone he trusted and turning the offense completely over to them. I personally was glad to see this out of him, because it means he's willing to admit when he was wrong about something and make changes to see if he can fix it. If the Miami offense under Werner doesn't end up working out, you can bet changes will be made again.

I disagree. I think it's called "Oh wow an OC I know personally. I don't have to think about it anymore."

There wasn't anything to get to working. It (USC offense) never got off the launching pad.

And I don't believe for a minute that 0 had a whole USC "system" he was putting into place.
I think he pulled Mazzone in front of a TV while USC was playing and said "Do that."
(Coincidentally, I think when "that" wasn't happening is when the sparks flew...or fists.)

If it was a system 0 "believed in", the miami guys would be adapting now.

He's doing something right to bring in a top-15 recruiting class.

Like I've said before.... make fun of him all you want... you haven't beaten him yet.

We talked about the difference between fact and opinion back in first grade. I have realized that my school was special as people commonly refer to an opinion as fact. A fact would be that Coach O has been named Rivals.com recruiter of the year before. Another is that he has championship rings with two teams. Another is he has never lost to Memphis. Another is he signed 6 out of the the Commercial Appeal's top 12 Mid-South football players in his first full recruiting year at Ole Miss. To say he is an embarrassment is your opinion. I'm not sure why he embarrasses you, since you don't care for the Rebels. He certainly doesn't embarrass me.

Another fact you might want to consider: he is 3-8 as a Head Coach
Another fact you might want to consider: his team got worse as the season went on.

No doubt he can recruit - jury is still out on whether he can function as a Head Coach.

Last Fact: Time will tell and it all begins in September.

OK, you did get one fact in there. 3-8 is a fact. Team getting worse as the season went on is an opinion. I do agree with this opinion however. I'm not quite sure what the last statement means, but it doesn't look like a fact.

I can't disagree with you at all, though. The jury is still out. I'd like to think we would show some progress and get to the 5-7 to 7-5 range this year and possibly be a good team in 2007. If we are 3-9 in 2007, then the recruiting classes were more hype than substance.

Team getting worse at the end of the season = offensive production went down, defensive production went down and you got beat by State by 21 points.

If Powe is not in this class, your class is no longer a top 15 class. He is one of only two 5 star recruits. Yes, it is still a good class, but it probably drops you from 6th to 7th in the $EC. And since does recruiting success equal on the field success anyway.

I will grant you the fact that he can recruit, but I will also say it will take a couple of years to see if he can continue to recruit at Ole Miss, especially if he doesn't put winning teams on the field.

.

should have been 28. Croom was too classy to run up the score and took a knee at the 1 or 2 yardline to end the game.

there is no argument about OM getting worse as the year went on.

It only makes sense to want to take over this area in recruiting since it's so close and so full of talent. It should also be both Tommy's and Fulmer's goal to control Memphis recruiting.

the difference is that West and Fulmer are both intelligent enough to know what to say and what not to say

Uh-Oh is like a bull in a China Shop.

Really, West is? West made fun of the "fence" statement saying he's "too old" or some garbage like that.

Too bad he's wearing an 0-1 mark against CEO....
Too bad Memphis and Tommy West went to a bowl game the last three years. Where was Ole Miss? UTK? Arkansas? Ahem...

We've won more bowl games in the last 10 years than you've ever BEEN to.... please know what areas you should talk smack in, and which you should leave alone.

The cotton bowl trip alone probably paid at as much as your 3 combined.....

Are they really even considered bowl games if they're played before December 20th?

In the twentieth century, we have both gone to three bowls, although our bowls are far superior. We also won a bowl game a few hours prior to the 21st century.
