Saying ******* is hardly a bad term. Would you rather him say tnuc, fock or kocksucker?

I'm sure Coach Oh, No!!!!!! has never said the GD word on the sidelines while watching his team end up 3-8 last season.

I'm sure every coach has uttered Goshdarn, dadgummit, dadburnit and so many other subs to goddamnit. We all know what you want to say so go ahead and say it since it is all the same.

Some might find the word "deusch" offensive.

Others might find it offensive to make up a story about being mugged while leaving a football game, in broad daylight with hundreds of people around, heading for a parking lot.

Some might just find you offensive.

Can't please everyone, I guess.

Moving this a little political, y'all think it is so fine for Tiger Woods to say GD in a golf tourny, but President Bush says the "S" word and it is a front page no no. What is the difference?

I may be wrong but I think "deusch" means Dutch. (What would be offensive about that?)

Rebel, are you trying to say douche, as in the feminine hygiene product?

I guess I'm no longer shocked at the depths to which the posting population here has sunk.

Tiger can say whatever he wants, but his lack of self-control does reflect poorly on him.

Sports figures aren't role models. That's ridiculous.

Frankly, I would like to think that the POTUS could drop an s-bomb or two when having a candid conversation with Blair. People blew that way, way, way out of proportion...and for the record, I'm not prone to stick up for Bush.

Tiger is a bad role model? I know I certainly wouldn't want any children I may have to find something they love to do and WANT and EXPECT to do it perfectly everytime!!! If they fail they should just shrug it off and say , Oh well". I would rather my kid be pissed that he missed the putt (again worht 1.5 million dollars) then use that anger to do even better then next time, which is what Tiger does.

I also wouldn't want them to get an education at at top notch school and use their talents to give back to the community.

Yeah, terrible role model.

great role model. just what the kids should be hearing when you make a mistake. unedited not once or twice, but three times...
Big surprise, another cracker trying to downplay the accomplishments of a man of color.

BTW, why would he have said GD considering almost every one of his shots was perfect? I watched almost all of the coverage saturday and sunday and didn't hear any of that. You're late for your KKKLan meeting aren't you?

I don't think it's that big a deal that Bush said the s word, but he sholdn't have said it hot mic or not. I don't think anyone would argue with that. That being said, Tiger Woods is not the leader fo the free world. You're comparing apples and oranges here.

You'd be surprised to hear that most people outside of the south don't think of that as an offensive term. Not picking a side (although it never comes out of my mouth), just saying that the perception of "GD" depends very much on where you grew up.

Actually, it is an offensive word to many, regardless of where you live. Obviously the people most offended are the ones who are religious. Using the Lord's name in vain is not acceptable in any state, country, etc. It does not matter where you live. Most of our society seems to have lost faith in God and therefore will not find the term offensive and will also defend its use. Just because we all have said it does not make it right, unless you are a non-believer and do not care either way.

And yes, I have used the word many, many times, as I am sure most of us have.

In regards to Tiger, I am happy for him. His emotions were running high and his anger was showing through. Cut him some slack and do not judge him as it is not our place.

My religious rant for the day.

i think Tiger should tone down the profanity.

i also think he is the best golfer of all time and probably the most mentally tough athlete i have ever seen.

however, he is the only golfer i have ever heard drop F-bombs and GD's pretty consistently on the golf course. as disciplined as he is, it shouldn't be too much trouble to curse under his breath when he misses the fairway by 2 feet.

Have you seen Daly and Sergio? Also, how about Cal guess he should tone it down too?

Yes, they all should, REGARDLESS of race.

absolutely.

i watch a lot of golf and rarely do i hear the F bomb and GD from anyone but Tiger.

as for Cal, his language has improved a lot since attendance has increased! a couple of years ago i could hear him yell GD from the Club Level across from the visitors bench!!

I think what MemphisReb was trying to say was the same thing that Chris Rock said pubicly a few years ago:

"You know this world is F'ed up when the best golfer in the world is black (Tiger) and the best rapper in the world is white (Eminem)."

Well said, Jedi...I agree. I hardly ever use profanity...I find it very offensive, but a lot of people do, men especially.

While Tiger is the best golfer since Jack and has done some great things through his foundation, I don't consider him a role model.

What amazed me was after breaking down emotionally, he was able to talk about his Dad in the tv interview and in his acceptance speech, and could keep his composure. Anyone who has lost a parent could identify with him.

Well done, Tiger.
