Quote:Torry Holt Agrees To Contract Extension With Rams
Former Pack star signs seven-year extension.

July 18, 2003

Former NC State wide receiver Torry Holt, who set numerous pass-catching records for the Wolfpack from 1995-98, has signed a new seven-year contract extension with the NFL's St. Louis Rams. Taken by the Rams in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft, Holt is coming off of his third straight 1000-yard receiving season after catching 91 balls for 1,302 yards in 2002. The Gibsonville native currently ranks seventh in team history in both receptions (306) and yards (5,088) after only four seasons.

While at NC State, Holt rewrote the school record books, setting single game, single season and career records in almost every passing category. He also set an ACC record with 3,379 receiving yards for his career.

The two-time All-ACC performer was named the ACC Player of the Year and Offensive PLayer of the Year Following his senior campaign. Holt's #81 jersey at NC State was retired on Jan. 16, 1999 during halftime ceremonies of the final NC State--UNC basketball game played at Reynolds Coliseum.

Torry's brother Terrence, who was a safety with the Wolfpack, recently signed his first NFL contract with the Detroit Lions.

Congrats to Torry! It's been fun watching his career flourish with the Rams.

thanks for the post Lucy ! I had heard that over the weekend but have been really busy entertaining company. Everyone decided to come visit now that the summer is nearing an end!

I have really been a Rams fan for several years now. It is just a fairly good group of guys I think. I miss being able to go to St. Louis for the weekend. I highly recommend it for a short trip for anyone who hasn't been there. Rams game, the arch and dinner on the river is a nice little get away.

Good job Torry!

Great for Torry. Too bad Rivers will never be anything in the NFL.
