Seriously, Memphis fans, Dwash was known as a choker.

Maybe if he would have delivered, he'd be known as "Mr. Clutch" and that could have only helped..

As it was, he's left knocking on doors with a reputation as a choker.

Quick, when was the last time Houston played in the CUSA championship game?

we can only strive to be up to the level of the flagship of CUSA. After all, Houston was both the regular season and tournament chapions last year. Right?

Right?

If he hadn't choked and he'd made those FTs, we would've won the C-USA tournament, gotten the automatic bid to the NCAAs, and with the way we were playing down the stretch probably advanced to the Sweet 16 or maybe Elite 8. It would've all been on the shoulders of D-Wash, who was playing phenomenal during that stretch. He would've declared for the draft after last year, and he would've been drafted late in the 1st round. Somthing along the lines of what Brandon Roy parlayed his great season into, but on a smaller scale since Roy is 6'5" and D-Wash is 6'1".

Instead, he choked, we went to the NIT, and D-Wash returned. Then, he got the deep thigh bruise in the preseason NIT and wasn't healthy the rest of the year. As a result, he digressed a little.

So I guess we can classify a bunch of stars as chokers. Lebron missed many many last second shots before he hit his first to win a game. No more is he "Mr. Clutch". You can't say he was a choker based off that one game. Yes, he choked, but he also recovered. Many times this past season he took over in the second half. That isn't choking.

Still waiting to hear....

While DWash, as you put it, "choked", you probably were choking on your chicken.

DWash is left knocking on doors cause of his height. He has the skills of a shooting guard but the height more in the lines of a point guard. During his years at UofM, Coach Cal was trying to teach him the point guard position because his chances at the next level were better at that position due to his height.

If I was a Coog fan, I would be more worried about your coach's health than DWash's future.

That clinically and without emotion is the absolute truth. You can sugar coat it all you want and of course we are all proud that he made 90% of his free throws in the NIT but going 1 for 3 from 15' with nobody defending him changed his life forever.

People that make their living evaluating basketball talent see the bigger picture, and as far as his freshman season they likely remember an aggressive scoring guard that beat Louisville almost by himself in Freedom Hall and then almost did it again to get us into the NCAA after what for without him would have been a hopeless season. I remember the game he played to put us in a position to win the no time left.

Your just jealous because Houston would never be able to get a Darius Washington caliber of player, because no great player would want to play for Houston anyways

At least he isn't left placing pitiful smack on an internet message board as a known dumb***.
