Replacement for Kingsburry

Phillip Daugherty out of Bridgeport has commited to Texas Tech.(commited 6/13, but now that Kingsburry is no longer a Raider, I thought I would bring this up)

Stats: As a junior, Daugherty completed 304 of 537 attempts for 4,678 yards with 35 touchdowns against 16 interceptions.

Runs the 40 in 4.8 seconds
6'3'' 215 lbs.

Rated #20 QB prospect in America

Also got offers from: Texas, Florida, New Mexico, and Oklahoma State

Our backup BJ Symons has looked good in backup duty this year. He will be a senior next year and should go into spring ball as the starter. I don't see us dropping off a whole lot with BJ behind center.

Daugherty was really being hounded by the Horns but chose the better school after it was all over. :D I think him and Bret Broussard will fight it out for the starting job in 2004.
