If I ever told a client that they were annoying the **** out of me, I'd be fired on the spot.

Anyone internet-ignorant enough to subscribe to AOL in the first place deserves to go through that nightmare. I remember going to friends' houses, back in the day when home internet service was a relatively new phenomenon, and being annoyed at the awful AOL browser they had to put up with as part of that service. Couldn't wait to get back to my old Netscape browser.

My first ISP was some guy in Oregon that ran it from his server. Occasionally the service would be unavailable & I'd call the "customer service" number and he'd answer "Hello?" You had to tell him you subscribed to internet service from him & then he'd be like, "Oh, let me go check the server. I may need to reboot it. Try back in a few minutes."

AOL is and always has been the worst ISP on the planet.
