1) Open up the offense. Georgia Tech's defensive front it talented and athletic. No reason to try to be proud here....we need to spread things out and pass to open up the run....not vice versa.
2) Defensive line must step up. Georgia Tech can run the football, and given time, Ball is a heck of a QB. Our defensive line must put pressure on Ball, and limit the Yellowjackets rushing attack.
3) No special teams collapses. History has shown in this series, any points you can get matter. Missed FG's, poor punts, blocked kicks, ect can swing the game easily.
This IS a winnable game. I just hope Tommy continues to let Charlie air things out to set up the run.

Clemson needs to use lots of motion and throw the ball. GT is better on Defense than I would have expected.

After watching Tech's first three games, BYU and FSU have exploited the Tech defense by using a short passing game. No one has been able to run on them.

It's simple really.
It's all in the hands of the Tiger defense.
Georgia Tech WILL shut down the run and force the pass all day, and thus stack the backfield for the pass.
Even with 3 and 4 man fronts, Tech will put pressure on the quarterback.
Given the OL troubles I've heard, there's no real solution for the Clemson offense.
Rush -> Stopped
Pass -> Remove the big folks for WR... easier to pass rush
Hats off to Clemson if they manage 2 TD's vs. our D.
That leaves the game up to our offense to win.... thus the Tiger defense to prevent.

Tech may be better than expected but I look at it this way.
They were beaten by BYU who is far from a power house football team. They pass the ball so they won.
Auburn is the most over rated teams to play this year. Their strength is the run, which played right into Tech's strong D-line. They had no passing game so Auburn lost.
In the Florida St. game Tech was hyped up just like anyone else is that plays these guys. FSU tried to run and were shut down. How did they end up winning? They passed the ball.
Clemson's strength is the passing game. I don't see Tech winning this game if Clemson comes out using the pass to set up the running game. Not running to set up the passing game like what was tried against Georgia.
We can't run against any team much less when it is their meat and potatoes. But, if we are sending 4 or 5 into their secondary and they drop a few guys back to cover that is when the run becomes effective. I know it and so does the rest of the ACC.
Bottom line, this should be a great game to watch. But I see the tigers pulling this one out by a TD.

Looking at the history of this game, I think it's impossible to predict what will happen. I respect GT very much for having played the way they have thus far in the season. I can see why they are favored in this game. That being said, I think we can move the ball through the air (predicting the number of touchdowns to be scored by a team in college football is absurd). Our defense will have to force Reggie Ball to make some mistakes. He's ultra-talented, but also very young. Should be a great game to watch.
You guys don't mind swagger, he goes to the "other" school in S.C. so they've had a few months to fill him with B.S. he's really a good guy.

You gotta do what you gotta do.
Out of state tuition to GT is outrageous (~$115,000 over 4 yrs). And I stayed at Clemson for a week as part of a program for gifted high school students. Let's just say I was wildly unimpressed by how poorly run the program was, and decided I would not go to Clemson.
The Tigers had their fair shot at me, and decided that they'd use it by showing just how poor they could make things.
So, the "other" school is now my temporary home until I go to GT for graduate work.

Swagger...lets not compare USC vs Clemson academically ok? Its a joke. And your beloved jackets will get shocked with weekend when we spread the field and pass all over them, opening up the run. Go ahead...just drop everyone in coverage. Try zone blitzing us. We will pick you apart.

I was talking about something more basic: living conditions. They put us in Johnstone... and that could be considered a better part of the experience.
While I will conceed that USC Honors College isn't know for computer science, it's certainly good enough for me to get a fellowship to Georgia Tech if I do exceedingly well. Which is what my real goal is.
Frankly, I am just passing through USC to get to Georgia Tech.
Now, if you want to play the academics game, we can. I can pull out some Georgia Tech engineering rankings and compare them to Clemson if you'd like.

Every school has their strong points and weak points. :) Sometimes I do wonder if Clemson would do much better in the SEC. I think the SEC has schools that are more similar to Clemson academically. Granted, LSU's academics are a bit of a joke, but at least they're trying to improve, which makes me feel better about them.
BTW, go Clemson, beat GT!! :D

Georgia Tech is no doubt an excellent academic school... if you have the luxury of being able to drop 120 K of Daddy's money.

Which is why I'm waiting until graduate time to go there.
If you live in state and near Atlanta, you can go to GT for the price of books

That one isn't going to happen. It'll be the opposite.

Please, lose the holier than thou attitude. Both schools excell in different areas. If you want to be a business major, a lawyer or a doctor, go to USC, if you want to be an engineer go to CU. Both schools specialize in different areas, PLUS we (USC) select students from more diversified backgrounds.
Again lose the hoiler than thou attitude.
BTW, Tech's defense is not ranked among the best in the country for nothing and the F$U game wasn't a fluke.
Tech by 10 and Tommy the Arrogant will be one step closer to the unemployment line.

Make sure you get that power running game going, wait...you must have a running game before you can go to a power running game.
