Game film, not family: Florida State defeated Georgia Tech, 14-13, last week, and it's not hard to wonder if Clemson coach Tommy Bowden would ask his father, Florida State coach Bobby Bowden, for advice on how to play the Yellow Jackets on Saturday.
Tommy Bowden said his father told him to talk to Jeff Bowden, Tommy's brother and the Seminoles' offensive coordinator. However, Tommy Bowden said he relies mainly on game film to determine strategy.
"Georgia Tech got our tape Sunday, we got their tape Sunday and things happen so fast during the game," Bowden said. "You make decisions on what you think you saw.
"You get most of your accurate information off the tape. So there is really not too much detail and information that he (Bobby Bowden) can give me off the game."
Miller needs one: Sophomore cornerback Justin Miller needs more than just treatment for a hip pointer injury sustained against Middle Tennessee State.
Miller is craving an interception. After intercepting eight passes as a freshman, Miller has none this season.
"Once I get one, I think I can settle down more," said Miller, who participated in non-contact drills Tuesday. "I'll be a lot more comfortable. It's not necessarily affecting the way I play, but it'd be nice to get one."
Defensive coordinator John Lovett said he expects Miller to play against Georgia Tech. Lovett also expects Miller to have an interception, wondering why Miller didn't pick off a MTSU pass that hit one of his hands. Miller almost made a one-handed interception.
"Maybe I'm coaching him out of catching the ball or something," Lovett said. "I was shocked he didn't intercept that ball. I thought he should have intercepted it."
Injuries: Junior tailback Yusef Kelly, who missed the first three games because of injuries, completed practice Tuesday.
Bowden said Kelly may play Saturday against Georgia Tech, but how Kelly practices today and Thursday will be a factor in that decision.
"He looked like he's a lot better," Bowden said.
Redshirt freshman offensive tackle Roman Fry returned to practice. Junior whip linebacker Lionel Richardson practiced some. Clemson sports information director Tim Bourret said redshirt freshman offensive lineman Tim DeBeer injured a knee in practice and an exam today should determine the severity of the knee injury.

Good to see Miller will be in the game. Also can't wait to see Kelly in the backfield again. We could use a good dose of experience back there.
