I came to this board around the end of the season last year to get some talk going about FSU going to a BCS bowl. My post turned into the single largest replied to post on this board. It caused such a stir that moderators quite their jobs, posts were edited by those that didn't like what was said, posts were deleted when opinions differed and generally there was just plain hostility from bitter FSU fans.

Last week I wrote my first post of this new football season, not only on this board but also on GT and UGA. Afterall, it is football season again and I could care a less about baseball and basketball. My post here was about record predictions. There was nothing inflamatory in my post. It was simply a prediction. On my post, you can see a picture of one of my Rotties. His name was Magnum. He died of cancer last February. It was his second bout with the disease. He beat the first one about a year ago. This latest round was too much for him. He was the sweetest, kindest most loving dog I have ever known. The picture below is a small JPEG of a large portrait I had an artist paint as a surprise for my wife. My wife and Magnum were soul mates. We miss him terribly even 7 months later.

Today I read a post by Paul ridiculing me for my Colorado/FSU prediction. I deserved all the ribbing any of you can dish out for that prediction. What I did not deserve was the comment Paul made about Magnum being my wife and being dead at only 9 years old. Comments like that are the reason that the same people are on these boards that were on them a year ago. I can see that there has been little growth to the membership of people that post here. The reason for this is posters like Paul who make themselves feel better by posting comments that are rude, unfeeling, low class and generally have nothing to do with sports.

I came back here to talk football and all it took was one post for the low class of this board to once again rear its ugly head. Paul, if you had said what you posted to my face, I would have knocked you out without hesitation. I am always amazed by those people that hide behind the safety net of their keyboard and write things that they would never say to someones face. Shame on you Paul. You have not changed one bit in the last year. You are still an angry, unhappy person.

For what it's worth, that is a good-looking dog in your sig. I have a black Lab that has some Rott mix in him, and I can tell you he is a friggin' beast with that combination. At the same time, he is also very playful and a great dog, and he is awesome with my five year old son. I know what you mean about being so attached to them. I had to threaten my son that if he didn't start treating our dog Eli(yes we named him after the QB) better that we were going to have to give him away. My son went thru a spell where he thought Eli was his punching bag, and just like a dog he just sat right there and took it, looking up at me everytime my son would do that. Anyway, the look in my son's eyes when I told him we would have to give him away would've crushed anyone. Needless to say, I didn't give him away, that was just a bargaining tool with my son to quit hitting the dog. It worked, too.
I've had several dogs in my lifetime, so I can certainly relate to the offense you took at that comment. I would've too if it had been my dog. But I hope you don't decide to leave. I always enjoyed your posts when you posted on the SEC board. At least, stick around over there. We'd be glad to talk sports with you.

Someone made a remark without thinking. I think we all have seen it since your reply was on every topic Paul has recently posted on. Yes it was a low blow, and I hope he can apologize. But come on, lets move on. I am here to post about football anyway, not about anyone's dog.

Oh he was thinking all right Metro. Don't assume for a minute that he wasn't thinking. He has personally attacked me on just about every subject I have ever brought up in this group.

And thanks for pointing out that I posted my reply on "every" topic that this miserable human being has recently posted on. I wasn't aware that I had done that and I can't thank you enough Metro for pointing it out.

And as far as "moving on"? This is still fairly fresh. Sorry if you logged on to this board today and had to be subjected to a few posts about this. But I think I'll decide when it's time to "move on"

Metro...

His dog has nothing to do with it.

Nothing more than deflection...

This guy is nothing but a disrupter...likes to spew.

No...the only 'dog that's got his goat///was the
one that lost 17-10!

Just like last January...He comes in and starts
spewing smack...that when it is hurled at him...
he claims he's done nothing and begins to whine.

I've offered to meet him...we'll see if he wants
to back up his talk...or if in fact...IT IS HE...THAT
IS THE ONE HIDING BEHIND A KEYBOARD.

I am locking this now. I have discussed the situation with a couple of you. I am asking that any smack talk goes on the ACC Smack Talk forum. Keep the personal stuff off of this board. If you are coming on the board to talk football, basketball, etc. that is OK. If you are not a FSU fan, expect to receive some strong replys. As long as it is not personal, fine. That kind of stuff goes on the smack board. I have asked the admins and mods to keep an eye on the situation.
