1. Duke
2. UNC
3. Wake
4. MD
5. FSU
6. State
7. UVA
8. Tech
9. Clemson

There is no doubt in my mind that the ACC will be set up this year in three tiers.

Duke, UNC, Wake will make up the first tier. The second tier will be MD, FSU, State. The cellar of the ACC will be UVA, GT, Clemson.

I think the order in the tiers might change, but I think the pecking order will be prettty clear this season.

1.Wake
2.Duke
3. Maryland
4. NC State
5. North Carolina
6. Georgia Tech
7. Florida State
8. Virginia
9. Clemson

Wake has the best guards in the conference if Eric Williams can stay out of foul trouble they will repeat as regular season conference champs.

I really dont think Duke is as good as everyone says they are but I cant see them finishing any lower than second.

Maryland doesnt seem to have anyone who can score in the post but Gary will find a way to win. I put them third mainly because I dont want them to finish any lower than third though it could happen. Too bad last year was the last of the epic battles between Blake and Hodge.

NC State may have been 3rd if Powell had stuck around.

Someone will get hurt for UNC and that will end their dream.

Georgia Tech has the talent....to be better than Florida State.

FSU is improving but isnt quite good enough to make the tournament yet.

Virginia lost the best player on a bad team.

Clemson is Clemson...

Oh yeah and Duke WILL lose atleast three conference games...Maryland, UNC and FSU they may lose to Wake as well.

Perhaps you weren't watching the pre-season NIT?

Ish developed the jumper.....

Schenscher is bigger and light years better.... giving us the only TRUE big man in the ACC.

If UCONN plays like it did vs. Nevada, Ga. Tech will hand them a L after they run through Hofstra.

But that's ok, everyone can go ahead and look past Tech. We always seem to play better as an underdog anyway.

1. Duke
2. UNC
3. Wake
4. NC State
5. Tech
6. MD (3-6 should all end up within 1-2 gms of each other)
7. FSU
8. UVA
9. Clemson

And La-Laf > Yale.
Maybe so but its not as much of a difference as you think.

<a href='http://kenpom.com/rate.php' target='_blank'>http://kenpom.com/rate.php</a>

In this poll there is only 6 spots between Louisiana Lafayette at 131 and Yale at 137 the other polls show la Lafayette being significantly better than Yale

In this <a href='http://members.aol.com/powerrater/m-basket.htm' target='_blank'>poll</a> however yale is 161 and La Lafayette is 110

<a href='http://www.dunkelindex.com/NCAARankings.html' target='_blank'>http://www.dunkelindex.com/NCAARankings.html</a>

Yale is 192 and La Lafayette is 104

These were the only polls that I found including all division 1 teams that has been updated for this season.

Another way to look at this would be Yale lost to the consensus number 1 team by only ten while La Lafayette lost to GT, which isnt anyones top 25 (or top 50 for the matter) by 34.

Either way it is way too early to tell who is the better team between La Lafayette and Yale.

Generally speaking the Ivy League is a more respectable basketball conference than the Sun Belt as well.

Terpy... You're seriously delusional if you think MD will finish higher than UNC.

I guess you'd technically be right, but F$U isn't the only team that we're better than.

Check that.

Georgia Tech is #1, and #11 (??) in the first two polls... the third hasn't updated since pre-season.

Except there's no pressure on us. We weren't picked by some "experts" to go undefeated with the greatest shooter, greatest freshman, and greatest coach in the nation.
