Why are the 2 major polls (the AP and Coaches) the only 2 that dont realize that Wake is the best team in the country? Lunardi has them as the number 1 overall seed in his bracketology and the ESPN Power 16 has them number 1 as well. The two most prominent polls are the only 2 who dont get it. :bang: :bang: :bang:

I appreciate the good thoughts & respect you hold for the Wake program, Terpy.

I'm content to wait until Wake proves itself in the first round of conference play. We have always tended to play better when we're flying just under the radar and thus the team feels a little less pressure to live up to the ranking, and instead just continues to play their best ball.

With Vytas injured and sitting on the bench, and Taron Downey & Justin Gray having shooting slumps, the Deacs are going to need stellar play from the rest of the team in order to match up well with dook & Tech over the next week. If we get through those games (heck, we still have to get past Texas in their house tonight) with wins, THEN I would expect a #1 ranking.

It might be up to the Deacs and Heels (in a joint effort) to get them up there in the next poll. If the Deacs take care of their next two -- and the Heels knock off UConn Saturday -- the Deacs will be #1.

The Deacs may be #1 anyway if they win their two.

It just bothers me that a team that is undefeated and has looked really good in nearly every game should be ranked behind two teams with a loss. IMO the only team in the country that has a legitimate claim to be ranked over Wake is Stanford.

I have taken a liking to this team and I generally root for them except of course when they play Maryland. I knew Eric Williams was going to be a great player when I first saw him in the All American game a couple years back, he is a force to be reckoned with, one of the most underrated players in the country. Also Justin Gray really earned my respect persevering through the broken jaw and playing well while wearing that goofy looking mask. Who could forget him diving on the court after a loose ball the first game back from the injury. I could go on but I dont think it is necessary. This team deserves to be getting more than just 3-5 first place votes.

We had to lose sometime. I'd rather get that out of the way to a good non-conference team than to one in conference.

IIRC I was singing the praises of the football team early in the season and as soon as I did it they lost.

Maybe I should stop doing that for the sake of the program.03-razz

Good idea. Maybe you should get off our bandwagon and join dook's! :D
