I hope you just watched Duke unravel when Duhon went to the bench with 4 fouls against UNC.

I think we all saw how Duke almost lost it completely when he was out. But of course people won't admit that he is a huge part of Duke's success. He's "too slow" and this and that.... Blah, blah, blah...

He's gonna be a hard act to replace when he's gone. :frown:

I sure did. Certainly the idea that the PG was out sparked UNC to gain momentum and put them away. Funny thing is though...they didn't do any better with Duhon on the bench. I do recall Deng and Shelden having a great game and in particular watching Deng clean up bad shots and pull Duke into the lead (might I add without assistance from Duhon: and yes he was in). I also recall that JJ couldn't hit the side of a barn but in the end made all the crucial free throws to keep them in the lead. All the crucial play (except the last shot) had nothing at all to do with Chris Duhon...wake up.

The one thing I will give Duhon is he made the last shot for Duke. That took balls and good leadership, and for that I commend him. He saw a lazy defense and blew right by everyone for a very nice lay-up. Good Job.

I also noticed that the stars of the game for Duke were no where to be seen in the final interviews. Of course the Senior PG who scored a staggering 9 points and turned the ball over 4 times to his 6 assists was interviewed after the game. If I were Williams or Deng, I might get a little put off by that. And yes I know, Coach K wants his so-called leader to speak for the team.

With all my griping aside...good win Duke. You came into a hostile place and never gave up. A well deserved and mostly well played game. I enjoyed watching such good play. Congrats Duke fans!

I don't know who you are referring to with the too slow comment, but I have certainly never said Duhon was slow. I actually think his speed is impressive. He just can't shoot worth a sh*t (free throws, 3's, mid-range jumpers, etc.).

How many times do I have to tell people I was not referring to them specifically? But there ARE people on the board who say nothing but he's slow.

Well those people are just stupid. He is not nearly as fast as Felton or AI but he does have some jets when he needs them.

Sheldon was being interviewed by a local station at the same time Duhon was on ESPN 2.

Thanks for pointing that out. He certainly deserved some recognition, too bad only on the local level. It just seems weird to me that the best players on the team get no national press. All you see is Duhon (who is 4th at best on his own team) spouting off the same regurgitated babble.

ESPN 2 was blacked out in the Triangle. That mean's more local people (with closer ties to the team) were hearing from Sheldon.

Well at least some people got to see it. It would be nice for the rest of the country to see. That's all I'm saying.
