I've heard the student section at the Joel called both of those this year. Are there just two nicknames for the student body or are there actually two different sections?

They are 2 separate student organizations. One is the "official" student section & the other is an offshoot group that started up in the late 90s because they didn't like the bureaucracy of the "official" group. Don't ask me which is which...they are johnny-come-lately's compared to the FIRST official basketball spirit group, Deacon Spirits, of which I was a member in the 80s... :D

I just like the fact that all students (and a growing number of alumni & fans of all ages) are now united in the tie-dye shirts!

I agree. The tie-dyed shirts are a nice touch. It definitely helps them stand out, plus it's original. I also liked how in the game against Duke, each section alternated gold and black t-shirts. If it doesn't blow out the WFAA's budget, they should do that more often.

Personally I think they're a bit lame...I could see the students wearing a "Wake Forest" t-shirt, but not tie-dye...

Just my opinion, not like it matters
