How does everyone see UVA doing against FSU, especially after FSU's close call in Syracuse?

It will be an entirely different game when the Cavs come to Doak (Tallahassee). One game vs how we played against Clemson, North Carolina and UAB. :D

FSU 24 UVA 17

A hard fought defensive struggle but FSU wins with a couple of turnovers by the defense.

Again, people need to forget about comparing two teams against common opponents.
UNC, Syracuse, etc., it doesn't matter now, does it?
Look at all the games this past weekend.
NC State lost to UNC, FSU struggled against Syracuse, Purdue barely beat Penn State.
All of these games on "paper" looked like blowouts, the field says a different story.
Yesterday the line was FSU -3 (it might be up to -5 right now, not sure) which tells me basically that game is even and the only reason the point spread is like that is because the game is being played at Doak.
If this game was at UVA I guarantee they would be the favorites.
The team to win this game MUST capatalize on the turnovers and score TDs NOT FGs or give it back to the other team.
The running games for both teams are awesome, one of these defenses MUST stop the running game, LBs for both sides can play some football.
Forget the QB situation, advantage UVA BUT our WRs must make plays regardless of who is behind center on Saturday night.
Special teams-I dont know what the hell is going on with FSU but the last couple of games we have absolutely SUCKED, well actually 3 games.
A blocked punt in the endzone, two returns by Clemson, and against Syracuse 2 dropped punts, one of which was recoverd by SU.
We need to step up on Special Teams big time Saturday night.
My prediction for this outcome is FSU 24 UVA 20, but dont suprised if this game has a lower score something like 17-14, one teams defense is going to have to step up Saturday night.

NOLES, you speak with great knowledge and sensibility. I absolutely loved reading your post...here is how I see the matchups stacking up

UVA O-Line vs. FSU D-Line: Advantage UVA
FSU O-Line vs. UVA D-Line: Advantage FSU
Hagans vs. FSU Defense: Advantage UVA
Sexton vs. UVA Defense: Advantage UVA
UVA Backfield vs. FSU Linebackers: Even
FSU Backfield vs. UVA Linebackers: Even
UVA Receivers vs. FSU D-backs: Even
FSU Receivers vs. UVA D-backs: Advantage FSU

That's three advantages for UVA and two for FSU. In reality anything that close means that the teams are evenly matched. Since the game is being played at Doak, that will even out even more. It should be a classic game Saturday night, one that I wish I could attend but being about 500 miles down the coast from Tallahassee I will have to settle for watching on ESPN.

I think you give your RBs a little too much credit. They are solid RBs but FSU has some pretty good LBs. I would give FSU the edge there.

I think you sell your own LBs a little short though and I would give the FSU backs vs UVA LBs matchup an edge to UVA.

Hagans vs the FSU defense is too close to call. We have yet to see what Hagans can do against a team that can get to him. Because of this relative inexperience, I give FSU the advantage.

FSU DBs vs UVA's WRs is a definite advantage for FSU. FSU's DBs aren't what they once were, but UVA's WRs have yet to come of age though Deyon Williams is looking good so far.

I said UVA receivers not UVA WRs. Receivers includes TEs. I am sure you will agree with me that UVA is perhaps the best set of TEs in the country...especially Miller...and the coaching staff does a nice job of utilizing the TEs in the games.

True. When ya factor them in, I guess it is about even. It is definitely gonna be a good game.

UVAs Miller has to be one of the top 2 TEs in the country, no doubt about that.
I'm hoping for a great ACC matchup and good luck to the Cavs the rest of the year, just not Saturday night. 03-wink

Hehehe, I root for FSU over Miami and UF so does that win me brownie points? LOL It's going to be a great matchup and it will really show the country what ACC Football is all about: Two of the top 10 teams going up against each other in a great atmosphere such as Florida State, it can't get much better than that.

Indeed! Thanks to VT and Miami for swinging it in our favor.
